Park

General

  • A ten-minute drive from Alton Towers and Uttoxeter Racecourse
  • Large family-friendly bar and restaurant; try the site's own bitter
  • Spacious beer garden with kids' play area and large climbing frame

Up for theme park thrills? New Broom Camping and Caravan Site is ten minutes away from Alton Towers – and has a comfy number of amenities to have you sorted on site too.

Set in two peaceful acres with flat grass pitches, the park has a traditional pub (which is both large and family-friendly) with a family restaurant and – many brownie points – its own New Broom Bitter. There's also a big beer garden with a kids' play area and a bouncy castle. And it's all in the small Staffordshire village of Checkley, a short drive away from Uttoxeter Racecourse and The Potteries as well as Alton Towers.

The pub serves decently priced drinks and meals including carvery, cooked breakfasts and pizza (pizza is available for takeaway too) and hosts regular events such as rock nights, tribute nights and darts nights.

New Broom also has a shower facility that guests can use free of charge.

Please note

The restaurant is open between 01/01 and 31/12.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

The campsite owner was fantastic and couldn’t have asked for a more useful bloke, such a friendly and relaxed environment, the owner made sure we were okay throughout our experience putting up a new tent and aided us with a extension cable for the electric hookup, couldn’t ask for a better campsite, clean and tidy, even had a cute pony and donkey.
