Up for theme park thrills? New Broom Camping and Caravan Site is 10 minutes away from Alton Towers – and has a comfy number of amenities to have you sorted on site too.

Set in two peaceful acres with flat grass pitches, the park has a traditional pub (which is both large and family-friendly) with a family restaurant. There's also a big beer garden with a kids' play area and a bouncy castle. And it's all in the small Staffordshire village of Checkley, a short drive away from Uttoxeter Racecourse and The Potteries as well as Alton Towers.

The pub serves decently priced drinks and meals including carvery, cooked breakfasts and pizza (pizza is available for takeaway too) and hosts regular events such as rock nights, tribute nights and darts nights.

New Broom also has a shower facility that guests can use free of charge.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The bar and/or restaurant is open between 01/01 et 31/12.

Bookings must not consist of more than 2 different households.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

    The pub was excellent and in such close proximity, the spaces were perfect size and the site facilities were clean. Really close to Alton Towers which was our destination! Would 100% stay again!

    Lovely clean site with everything you need and facilities were very clean. The pub on site is very nice with friendly and helpful staff and we liked that we were able to bring our dog in with us. Best part of the trip - the carvery was without doubt, the best I've ever had!

    Very friendly staff and owner. Beer is excellent and pub is very nice, loads of outside space, lovely flowers and baskets. Very well kept and clean, site very nice also. Found great walks from site along river to upper tean and also other walks over fields to other villages with pubs. Dog friendly. Thanks

    Tiny pitches,very small site,,more like a pub carpark,despite paying on Pitchup.com for electric pitch been made paying extra £5 per day for electric-never had to do it anywhere else,next to a busy road

Hi sorry you were not happy with your stay. You paid £40 for a 2 night stay and this is the price without electric, if electricity had been paid for on pitchup it would tell us here at the New Broom. The pitches are adequate sizes for both tents, caravans, and motorhomes.

Both Alton Towers and Uttoxeter Racecourse are ten minutes' drive away – just as well then that New Broom Camping and Caravan Site is competitively priced as you'll need to save your pennies for days at either/both…

Uttoxeter is also good for an afternoon out to visit the Museum of Uttoxeter Life, the Wednesday and Saturday markets (a farmers' market is held once a month too) and Bramshall Road Park's tennis courts, skate ramps, football pitch, bowling green, play areas and Picknall Brook nature reserve.

Fifteen minutes' drive away at Stoke-on-Trent, The Potteries ceramics centre has over 20 pottery factory shops as well as award-winning museums, visitor centres, factory tours and a ceramics trail.

Around half an hour away, visit the Derbyshire Dales to find walking trails for all abilities and market towns such as Bakewell and Ashbourne.

Admission
Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.

Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground and attended by an adult at all times.

Bookings are nominative and non-transferable.
