  • Well-kept level 20-acre site 10 minutes' walk from Fleet Hargate
  • A 20-minute drive to Spalding; bus stops in the village
  • Café on site with homemade cakes and summer weekend events
Whether you want to sun yourself on the grass or angle at the water, Lawns and Lakes Camping and Caravanning is a peaceful and well-maintained 20-acre site from which to do both (or nothing at all) among the lovely Lincolnshire countryside... If you’d rather just use the place as a base, that’s no problem either: access to the site – a 10-minute walk from the village of Fleet Hargate and 20 minutes’ drive from Spalding – is straightforward as it’s a short detour from the A17. Roaming on foot is a cinch too – just unhook the gate and wander out onto surrounding paths for a stroll. Any four-legged travellers that have come along for a break can stretch their paws at the site’s dog walking area, half a mile of dog-oriented space with bins for the inevitable mess. Park owners Nigel and Tracy have set their place up to make sure the local wildlife’s just as happy as the guests: there are trees and shrubs all around, along with wildflower meadows that are popular with woodpeckers, kingfishers and other birds. The park’s two fishing lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd, and ducks often stop by too. You’re also likely to meet the family’s flock of hens, whose goings-on are most amusing at feeding time. For eats, you may like to set up a barbecue or wander to the village pub or farm shop; treats are to be had closer to home at the site’s Sweet Delights Café, which serves up hot drinks, homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes with a side order of entertainment on selected weekends. A bus stop service is available on site through a call connect service or via a short stroll to the village.

What customers say

This is a very well-maintained and clean campsite with spacious pitches and excellent facilities, including modern, clean showers. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful owners and staff, the lovely surroundings with lakes and wildlife, and the on-site food offerings. While a few minor issues like occasional road noise and a desire for more shower facilities were noted, the overwhelming sentiment is positive, with many visitors expressing their intention to return.

Electric grass pitch (XL)

Liked Large spacious level pitches in a peaceful, scenic location with fishing lakes and dog walk all around the site. Washing up area and bathroom facilities were really well maintained and clean. Great to have an on site cafe / bar too.

Disliked First day the shower lost all water pressure mid way through showering and when it eventually came back was freezing cold. 5 en suite showers for such a large site couldn’t cope with the bank holiday capacity but was fine after the weekend.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we do apologise but the gas on the shower heaters ran out - Nigel soon changed it over and normal service was resummed with piping hot water. Unfortunately you seemed to haved missed the other facilities which you have given a wrong impression as to how many showers/toilets we have on site, but I appreciate that over a bank holiday weekend we are busy. We very much look forward to your return and to welcome you back

Electric grass pitch (XL)

Liked Large pitches with plenty of room, nice clean facilities. Nice mile long dog walk. Nice restaurant and cafe/cake bar. Optional entertainment at additional cost. The shower units are on-suite which gets an additional 3 toilets totalling 6. The Friday fish and chips are very tasty and you can takeaway back to your pitch.

Disliked Unfortunately despite the facilities being clean there are only appear to be 3 showers for the site with an additional disabled shower and toilet by the cafe, this results in lots of queuing unfortunately. Very expensive fish and chips (cost £51.90 for 3 fish and chips and 2 Pepsi max). No wi-fi

From the manager: Thank you for your review and MAXIMUM SCORE, unfortunately you seems to have missed the other toilet/shower facilities giving a wrong impression of how many toilets and showers we have on site, which I can appreciate will be busy over the bank holiday weekend as with any other site visited during a bank holiday time.
We only use the best ingredients in our restaurant and where we can from locally sourced ingredients, the cod is fresh line caught from sustainable source each fillet is around 2-3cms in depth and battered in our own recipe to give a wonderful crispy coating, potatoes from local farms, peeled on site and hand cut, which equates to each plate being charged at around £15 you would not be able to get this quality any cheaper from a restaurant given that it is table service to. We do have wifi available on site but it depends on what provider you are using as with all areas some work better than others. From the maximum score I can appreciate that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Peace and quiet back to nature site, with onsite bar and restaurant/ tea room

Disliked Could do with more toilet facilities

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, we have 2 toilet areas on site perhaps you didnt find the other facility, obviously during a bank holiday weekend all sites facilities are under greater use, however I believe being in a motorhome you had all your own onboard facilities. We look forward to welcoming you again

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The back to Nature feel of the site, quite and relaxing.Ideal for fishing if thats what takes your fancy.

Disliked Not enough shower facilities although what they have are spotless. If you are pitched on hard standing and grass it is a fair trek to them.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review if I could just kindly answer a couple of points, you didnt book until 4th August and wanted 2 pitches together as with all sites the longer you leave to book the more chance you have of being further away from the facilities especially booking late and requesting 2 pitches together, the other factor is that you were in a motorhome with your own facilities on board so we wouldnt necessarily expect that you would want to use our facilities

Local attractions

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
