What customers say

This well-maintained campsite boasts spacious pitches, beautiful lake views, and friendly, helpful owners. Facilities are generally clean and well-kept, with good shower pressure. The on-site bar and restaurant receive praise for their food and welcoming atmosphere. While some note potential noise from a nearby road, the peaceful setting is a major draw. Issues with facility availability during low season and occasional Wi-Fi unreliability were mentioned, with some manager replies indicating solutions or context.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked I stayed for 5 nights in mid March on my own. Staying in a T5 on hard standing with EHU.

The site is well located and makes for a great base to explore the local area.

The pitches are generous and well maintained. Each has a back border of trees and hedges adding to a feeling of privacy and security.

The facilities were clean and a good standard.

Overall highly recommended.

Disliked Nothing.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nice setting with the lake and well laid out pitches.
Shower/toilets were warm and showers had good water pressure.
Dish washing area well set out.

Disliked We were placed close the the restaurant area which had 2 toilet/shower cabins but these were locked! so we had to walk around the fields to the main shower/toilets. The site was very quiet, it was February, dark and weather awful, so we would have appreciated being placed closer to the open showers.

From the manager: Thank you for your comments - as you visited us mid week and in very low season I would have hoped that you would have appreciated that we cannot have all facilities heated and running for minimal occupancy, in fairness you were only a couple of minutes further to the main block, a number of sites close during winter months for this very reason, we take this action to try and keep our pitch rate prices down, electricity is not capped for business use as it is for domestic. At the weekends when we have increased numbers of guests we open all the facilities. As for the darkness we do advise in your arrival information to bring a flash light as we are a dark skies accredited site and only have night lights around the amenities sorry the weather was not kinder to you for your break.

Nice site with picturesque lakes. Good clean facilities

Local attractions

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
