Quiet, secluded pitches
Sweet delights cafe -wonderful homemade cakes
Plenty of space to feel free

  • Well-kept level 20-acre site 10 minutes' walk from Fleet Hargate
  • A 20-minute drive to Spalding; bus stops in the village
  • Café on site with homemade cakes and summer weekend events
Whether you want to sun yourself on the grass or angle at the water, Lawns and Lakes Camping and Caravanning is a peaceful and well-maintained 20-acre site from which to do both (or nothing at all) among the lovely Lincolnshire countryside... If you’d rather just use the place as a base, that’s no problem either: access to the site – a 10-minute walk from the village of Fleet Hargate and 20 minutes’ drive from Spalding – is straightforward as it’s a short detour from the A17. Roaming on foot is a cinch too – just unhook the gate and wander out onto surrounding paths for a stroll. Any four-legged travellers that have come along for a break can stretch their paws at the site’s dog walking area, half a mile of dog-oriented space with bins for the inevitable mess. Park owners Nigel and Tracy have set their place up to make sure the local wildlife’s just as happy as the guests: there are trees and shrubs all around, along with wildflower meadows that are popular with woodpeckers, kingfishers and other birds. The park’s two fishing lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd, and ducks often stop by too. You’re also likely to meet the family’s flock of hens, whose goings-on are most amusing at feeding time. For eats, you may like to set up a barbecue or wander to the village pub or farm shop; treats are to be had closer to home at the site’s Sweet Delights Café, which serves up hot drinks, homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes with a side order of entertainment on selected weekends. A bus stop service is available on site through a call connect service or via a short stroll to the village.

Liked The owners are absolutely wonderful people. Very welcoming. Thank you. The information received regarding facilities was spot on. Facilities were tidy and generally clean. The site is full
Of a range of different trees and nature. Ponds are lovely. We had chips and fish on the Friday from the onsite pub and they were absolutely beautiful. The lemon meringue is outstanding.

Disliked This would not stop me staying but the Shower curtain need changing. No breakfast on Saturday morning. 😔 and pub not open a lot.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review and kind words. We're delighted you enjoyed your stay, especially our peaceful surroundings, the ponds, and the variety of trees and wildlife. It's wonderful to hear you enjoyed the fish and chips, and we're especially pleased the lemon meringue was a hit!

Thank you also for your constructive feedback. We regularly wash and rotate our shower curtains as part of our cleaning routine, but we'll check them again to ensure they are looking their best. Our restaurant opening times are advertised in advance, and while we don't currently serve breakfast on every Saturday, we appreciate your comments and will take them into consideration for the future.

It was a pleasure having you stay with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Lawns & Lakes again soon.

Primitive grass campsite (XL)

Liked Lovely quiet spot. Excellent clean facilities. Great location just off A17, very handy for our onward journey the next day.

Disliked I was sent the menu when I booked (for a Monday night during the school summer holidays) so expected the restaurant and cafe to be open. It wasn’t open and we didn’t bring gas as we were looking forward to food and drinks out. A bit disappointing and we had to make do with random bits in the fridge. On arrival at the automated gate, It took 5 phone calls to the advertised number before someone picked up so we could gain entry. Only one mobile number is shown on the pitch up website (which didn’t pick up) I happened to find a second mobile number on a different website which did work.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, our clean facilities and our convenient location just off the A17.

We're very sorry again for the difficulty you experienced accessing the site on arrival. As we explained at the time, we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Your experience highlighted an issue with our automated gate system, and following your report our engineer attended on the Tuesday to repair the fault. We really appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as it enabled us to resolve the problem quickly.

Regarding the restaurant, we're sorry for your disappointment. However, we would like to clarify that we do not serve evening meals on weekdays and have never offered evening dining on Mondays. We have checked the information sent to you on 30th July, which clearly stated that our restaurant is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We always aim to provide accurate information before guests arrive so they can plan accordingly.

We appreciate your feedback and are pleased that, despite these issues, you enjoyed your stay overall. We hope you'll consider visiting us again—perhaps over a weekend when you can experience the restaurant and enjoy everything we have to offer.

Kind regards,

The Lawns & Lakes Team

Liked Pitch size, friendly Nigel.
Sunday lunch, club house bar and friendly staff.
Tranquil.

Disliked Minor details ,
no site amenity map, no signage for which bin for recycling ( every area in the country is different.). On arrival could not get in.( Tried the gate and phone number)
Walked round site to find some one to let us in .
B1168 is a terrible road ( just the way we travelled across the country )

From the manager: Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our spacious pitches, friendly welcome from Nigel, our Sunday lunch, the clubhouse bar, and the peaceful atmosphere. It's wonderful to know our team helped make your stay enjoyable.

We also really appreciate you highlighting the issue with the entrance gate. Unfortunately, there was a fault with the gate on your arrival, but we're pleased to say this has now been repaired, and we're sorry for the inconvenience it caused.

Thank you too for your comments regarding the recycling. The signage is located on each bin lid, although we appreciate that recycling systems vary across the country, and we'll certainly take your feedback on board as we continue to improve the information available to our guests.

We're sorry your sat nav brought you via the B1168 and the back lanes. Fortunately, there are excellent A roads leading directly to our site, and we do recommend these routes where possible. Unfortunately, we have no control over the routes chosen by individual sat nav systems.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback

Liked Dislikes…We booked this site as it was half way to meet up with family… We stayed 3 nights on 3 X pitches, NEVER AGAIN!!!! The toilets and shower blocks near restaurant were filthy!! We ended up not using them. Family turned up next to us in their VW camper van and plugged their EHU plug in and came to meet up with us in the restaurant…. meanwhile a family member came to make us aware that the owner ripped the cable out of the EHU point and was on the way to us to have a go about charging a electric vehicle on site. I confronted the owner (who was very rude ) that the vehicle (camper van) was NOT an electric vehicle. This was plain to see it was not an electric vehicle. The owner did not apologise until I confronted him in front of others. The problem did not stop there, we spent a large amount of money in their restaurant as there was 8 of us to be confronted by a dead cooked fly in the chips! The owner did not remove the meal and replace it, they just gave us a new portion of chips that was cooked in same oil as the fly!!!! I just want want to say the whole weekend was ruined and we shall never be returning again! We also found a bit strange that we had to dispose of our waste water in the bushes behind our motorhome. I’m now in the process of contacting environmental health.

Liked We went during the heat wave and found the site to be great. The pub is air conditioned and served excellent drinks and food was 10/10. Best i have had at any camp site. Whilst there they had an Italian night meal buffet. Again 10/10 with 3 courses and drink. Great value and facilities. Very clean. They are open all year as well with other special events so well worth checking what's on. Will be looking forward to going back again. Wifi available in pub.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear you had such a great stay with us, even during the heatwave. It's wonderful to know you enjoyed the comfort of our air-conditioned pub, and we're especially pleased that our food was the best you've had at any campsite!

We're also thrilled you enjoyed our Italian Night. Our team loves putting on these special events, so it's great to hear it was such a highlight of your visit. Thank you for mentioning our facilities, cleanliness, and year-round opening too.

We really appreciate your recommendation and can't wait to welcome you back for another stay and one of our future events

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
