  • Well-kept level 20-acre site 10 minutes' walk from Fleet Hargate
  • A 20-minute drive to Spalding; bus stops in the village
  • Café on site with homemade cakes and summer weekend events
Whether you want to sun yourself on the grass or angle at the water, Lawns and Lakes Camping and Caravanning is a peaceful and well-maintained 20-acre site from which to do both (or nothing at all) among the lovely Lincolnshire countryside... If you’d rather just use the place as a base, that’s no problem either: access to the site – a 10-minute walk from the village of Fleet Hargate and 20 minutes’ drive from Spalding – is straightforward as it’s a short detour from the A17. Roaming on foot is a cinch too – just unhook the gate and wander out onto surrounding paths for a stroll. Any four-legged travellers that have come along for a break can stretch their paws at the site’s dog walking area, half a mile of dog-oriented space with bins for the inevitable mess. Park owners Nigel and Tracy have set their place up to make sure the local wildlife’s just as happy as the guests: there are trees and shrubs all around, along with wildflower meadows that are popular with woodpeckers, kingfishers and other birds. The park’s two fishing lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd, and ducks often stop by too. You’re also likely to meet the family’s flock of hens, whose goings-on are most amusing at feeding time. For eats, you may like to set up a barbecue or wander to the village pub or farm shop; treats are to be had closer to home at the site’s Sweet Delights Café, which serves up hot drinks, homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes with a side order of entertainment on selected weekends. A bus stop service is available on site through a call connect service or via a short stroll to the village.

Electric grass touring pitch

Liked We stayed at The Lawns and Lakes campsite this weekend and had an absolutely brilliant time. The campsite itself is excellent — clean, well-kept, and set in beautiful surroundings. The facilities were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay really comfortable.

One of the highlights was the bar area, which had a great atmosphere and was the perfect place to unwind in the evening. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything felt really well organised.

We’ll definitely be coming back again and would highly recommend The Lawns and Lakes to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable camping getaway.

Liked Simple but ok

Disliked Ants nest and flying ants near toilets and showers

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review, unfortunately ants can pop up at any time especially this time of the year. Please could I kindly request not just for our site but for all other hospitality venues, when you book a table and then you decide that you dont want the table can you kindly cancel it then allows for others to take your place instead of having to turn guests away.

Liked As always just great place to be. Nice clean site with great facilities. It was our 3rd visit and will come back in future.

Just few points to make others aware (no complaining, just be aware):
A17 close by, so can be noisy at times
Not much to do around site, just pure camping/caravinig experioence.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and MAXIMUM score, however I think some of you comments maybe a bit misleading for others, in general the road which is is over 1/2 a mile away produces in negliable noise, and there are things to do on site, we have fishing available along with our restaurant offering many wonderful dishes, we have throughout the year Saturday Gala Events with live entertainment, we have a licenced bar which has a pool table (60p game) and a dart board, along with many wonderful things to see on site around wildlife, perhaps you have yet to discover them. Looking forward to welcoming you again soon

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The owners were really friendly and helpful. The Barn was great. Lovely fish and chips on the Friday evening.
The showers were powerful and private. The large block of showers were better than the 2 block as had better mirrors lots of hooks to hang clothes.
Lovely grounds to walk around. We found the pub in the local village Rose and Crown. The landlord and locals were very friendly and food good.
We caught the local bus which was a good service in Long Sutton. Really enjoyed our stay

Local attractions

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
