Quiet, secluded pitches
Sweet delights cafe -wonderful homemade cakes
Plenty of space to feel free

  • Well-kept level 20-acre site 10 minutes' walk from Fleet Hargate
  • A 20-minute drive to Spalding; bus stops in the village
  • Café on site with homemade cakes and summer weekend events
Whether you want to sun yourself on the grass or angle at the water, Lawns and Lakes Camping and Caravanning is a peaceful and well-maintained 20-acre site from which to do both (or nothing at all) among the lovely Lincolnshire countryside... If you’d rather just use the place as a base, that’s no problem either: access to the site – a 10-minute walk from the village of Fleet Hargate and 20 minutes’ drive from Spalding – is straightforward as it’s a short detour from the A17. Roaming on foot is a cinch too – just unhook the gate and wander out onto surrounding paths for a stroll. Any four-legged travellers that have come along for a break can stretch their paws at the site’s dog walking area, half a mile of dog-oriented space with bins for the inevitable mess. Park owners Nigel and Tracy have set their place up to make sure the local wildlife’s just as happy as the guests: there are trees and shrubs all around, along with wildflower meadows that are popular with woodpeckers, kingfishers and other birds. The park’s two fishing lakes are stocked with carp, bream, tench, roach and rudd, and ducks often stop by too. You’re also likely to meet the family’s flock of hens, whose goings-on are most amusing at feeding time. For eats, you may like to set up a barbecue or wander to the village pub or farm shop; treats are to be had closer to home at the site’s Sweet Delights Café, which serves up hot drinks, homemade cakes and ice cream sundaes with a side order of entertainment on selected weekends. A bus stop service is available on site through a call connect service or via a short stroll to the village.

What customers say

This well-kept campground offers spacious sites, lovely lake views, and friendly, helpful owners. Facilities are generally clean, with good shower pressure. The on-site bar and restaurant are praised for food and atmosphere. While some mention nearby road noise, the peaceful setting is a major draw. Some issues with off-season facility availability and occasional Wi-Fi unreliability were noted.

Liked Great site, manicured, good fishing, quiet.

Disliked The bar and restaurant, which was great, is only open at weekends. I understand why that is due to commercial reasons, but it would be great if that could be opened, or even subcontracted out to be opened by somebody else.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and kind comments about the site, fishing and peaceful atmosphere — we really appreciate it.

We’re also very pleased to hear you enjoyed the bar and restaurant. This week the bar was actually open on both Monday and Tuesday, however due to low demand it is now closed until Friday. Like many seasonal venues, we do have to balance opening hours with customer demand, particularly during quieter periods.

We do completely understand your point though, and it’s something we continually review as we want guests to have the best possible experience during their stay.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed our friendly staff, spacious pitch layouts, and the beautiful surroundings of the site.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the shower facilities during high season. Just to mention, we also had additional showers and toilets available in the Barn area throughout the weekend, which were completely free to use and generally had little to no queues — we understand these may have been easy to miss during your stay.

In terms of children’s facilities, we currently don’t have an on-site playground as there is a public play area just a short 7-minute walk from the site. A swimming pool is definitely on our wish list for the future, and we are currently going through the planning process as we continue to improve the site for families and returning guests.

Thank you again for your feedback and support — we hope to welcome you back again soon.

I enjoyed my stay here, and would certainly use again.

Liked Very well maintained and reasonably quiet.
Toilets and showers very modern, although the showers did seem to have some drainage issues when i used them.
My pitch was spacious, with plenty of room for motorhome and awning.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed the spacious pitch, the peaceful atmosphere, and our modern facilities.

We also appreciate you mentioning the shower drainage issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention — we’ll certainly look into it to make sure everything is working as it should. Showers are cleaned 3 times a day and guests are asked to maintain after use, however sometimes thick products can clogg the plug hole, however these are maintained daily so that this is not an issue.

We hope to welcome you back again soon for another relaxing stay.

Liked Great size pitches.
Good based for exploring into Lincolnshire and Norfolk
The people around us were respectful and at night time nobody was loud/ disruptive.

Disliked It’s closer to the A17 than I’d realised. It’s a busy road even at night. Which means getting undisrupted sleep was a challenge (I’d recommend ear plugs).

Also, unfortunately for how busy the site was when we stayed there isn’t enough toilet or showering facilities. The ones there are spot on. Just not enough.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review and for highlighting the great size of the pitches, the respectful atmosphere on site, and our location for exploring Lincolnshire and Norfolk. We’re really pleased you enjoyed those aspects of your stay.

We’re sorry to hear that your sleep was disrupted. We do appreciate the A17 may be noticeable at times, although this hasn’t been mentioned as an issue in other reviews, so we do wonder if the recent heatwave may also have contributed to a less comfortable night’s sleep.

Regarding the facilities, thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you found the toilets and showers to be of such a high standard. We think you may not have discovered the additional toilet and shower block by the barn area, which had very little to no queue throughout the weekend and offers the same high-quality facilities.

As your visit was during a busy Bank Holiday weekend, all campsite facilities are naturally in much higher demand than usual across most sites, and we do our very best to keep everything clean, accessible, and running smoothly for all guests.

We do appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and hope to welcome you again in the future.

Liked The shower and toilet blocks were very clean and modern. Owners always happy to help. The site is beautiful, grounds kept very tidy. In a fab location, I would happily come here again.

Disliked The price in the clubhouse seemed a little expensive for some things, coffee and cake for 4 people came to £49.80!! Which seemed very expensive to me, but the cakes were to die for!

The board outside the clubhouse wasn't always updated with the opening times so we never knew when it would be open to guests.

Booking says that Wifi is available, we asked in the clubhouse but were told that it should be available to guests. This was a disappointment as wifi was important to our trip.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of our facilities, the beautiful surroundings, and our location. It’s also wonderful to know that our team made you feel welcome and that you would happily visit us again.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the clubhouse. Our cakes and desserts are all homemade on site, and two of the desserts served with your order also included ice cream, which contributed to the total cost. We’re so pleased to hear that you found the cakes “to die for”!

We’re sorry for any confusion regarding our opening hours. A welcome information pack is provided on arrival and includes the clubhouse opening times. While the clubhouse is not open all day, if Tracy is working in the Barn she is always happy to serve guests, as she did with your coffee and cakes.

Regarding Wi-Fi, we do offer Wi-Fi across the site via our 4G network, as well as a dedicated connection at the Barn. We apologise if there was any misunderstanding during your stay and will review how this information is communicated to guests to ensure it is clearer in the future .

Lovely site, we had a very relaxing week.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and for taking the time to share your feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the spacious pitches, well-kept grounds, friendly staff, and the addition of the clubhouse during your stay.

Regarding the toilet and shower facilities, we would like to provide a little context. Due to a family bereavement, we were unfortunately unable to complete all of our planned winter renovation works. We currently have notices in place explaining that two cubicles are awaiting refurbishment and asking guests for their patience and understanding while we complete these improvements. As we believe you were staying with us in a caravan, we hope this had minimal impact on your visit.

We also appreciate your comments regarding clubhouse prices. We do strive to keep our prices as reasonable as possible whilst maintaining the quality of our offering. All of our food is freshly prepared on site, and many guests regularly comment on the exceptional quality of the meals served in the clubhouse. Whilst we understand that perceptions of value can vary, we work hard to provide high-quality food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere at fair prices.

Thank you again for your kind comments, and we hope to welcome you back to the park again soon.

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
