Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: It was secure, away from the main road,
Close to the toilets,
Showers and toilets clean,
Nice small field, not over crowded.
Disliked: There was only one electric hook up box that accommodated 4 tents, which ment all tents needed to be really close to each other, it's not ideal when you're next to a stranger.
The park is an ideal location as we could always see our children but its very unsteady, wobbles alot whilst children are playing on it. There's a big hook poking out the ground which is a potential hazard. The tiles on the floor arnt securely fastened down.
On the morning off leaving our 7year old children were approached by the owner in a very aggressive manner, when really I should have been approached as I am the adult. She was shouting that they had damaged the floor and demanding them to go and fix it. As I approached her to see what the problem was she demanded I went to the park to see what they had done. As we got there I could see 5 tiles had been lifted not damaged, when I asked my son why he'd done it he said he was looking for bugs. I told him he must not remove them and look elsewhere for bugs. It took me 1 minute to place them back. As I was doing it she was screaming at me saying don't expect her to do it. I would highly recommend these tiles to be securely fastened down to avoid this happening again! Also she screamed at me saying children should be supervised whilst on the park, I understand this but there was many children coming on and off the field at all times day and night! They were going on the park unsupervised and all weekend we didn't see any parents with them, these children also was in and out of our tents and around our tents all weekend, that lead us to be worried about leaving our tents unsupervised, it's also a concern that parents aren't aware that these children are around strangers!

From the manager: Julia
Thank you for taking the time to review our site.
We are glad that you found our site clean and not overcrowded.
Regarding you claim about screaming at you and your child it is absolutely not true. Yes I absolutely did come over to you and your son but didn't address him until you were with him. I spoke to him in a firm calm voice. I absolutely did not raise my voice to a child. I absolutely walked you over to the play area so that you could fix the mess he'd made. Again any words spoken to you were in a normal voice not screaming. Perhaps you aren't used to being challenged over your parenting skills or your child behaviour. I don't care what reason was given for messing with the safety mats had you been monitoring him it wouldn't have happened.
Regarding securing them down.. the whole point of the specialist mats is that they are soft if I stake them down that then adds a hard sharp point for a child to hurt themselves on. It's funny you blaming us for your parenting fail.
Also if our play area is of such concern why did you allow your child to play on it for 2 days?
Regarding your complaint about being too close to others you're right had we been able to move you to another campsite we would have. We had multiple complaints about your lack of respect for others, the noise, shouting late at night etc. we even had campers leave early because of your behaviour.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: Friendly and helpful owners. All the facilities we needed and seemed to be in good condition. There was also a bar, but I was on my own with a child so didn't make use of this. Decent pitch for the tent - pretty flat, took pegs well, didn't seem to be any drainage issues, although weather had been very dry for last couple of weeks - but there was some rain while we were there. A little road noise but not really a problem - it sounded fairly distant.
Disliked: Field for tents was almost completely surrounded by a collection of ancient, unused, dilapidated caravans - which spoiled the effect of being in the countryside a little, and made it feel a bit more like being in a junkyard instead.

From the manager: Hello Daniel,
Many thanks for your stay and comments.
Just to follow up on your point regarding the feel of being in a junk yard. I have to say this comment is way over the top and certainly paints a very negative review on our camping field / business. We have commented on this point many times on "pitch up" and had you actually taken the time to review our site properly prior to booking, you would see plenty pictures of our camping field (with the storage caravans along the edges) and the previous comments which we have addressed. Also on your point regarding "ancient, unused dilapidated caravans". In actual fact we have a collection of around 5 caravans which are located in one area which will be taken for scrap, all the others get used through the year. Just because a caravan needs washed, doesn't make it a dilapidated caravan. I would highly recommend that in the future you take the time to properly research the campsite you are looking to book instead of taking the opportunity to knock it online where you have an audience.
We wish you all the very best for your future camping adventures.

Liked: Really friendly greeting by the owner on arrival. Lovely neat campsite with well kept pitches even though this isn’t a new place. Showers & toilets clean
Disliked: Quite a few children took a short cut behind our camper van pitch & a few hung around for a while picking flowers & playing but we were only there for one night so it wasn’t really a problem.t

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked: What a great site! The staff/owners are lovely, the field is well kept and pretty much completely flat, The park is a great addition for the kids. The set up of tent pitches are well placed so there’s plenty of space for the kids to play football on the field etc. the showers were hot, (except one morning when everyone went to the shower at the same time and the hot water ran low, but nothing the owners could do about that, it was fantastic otherwise) The bar is a great addition to the site too.
Honestly couldn’t recommend the campsite more! The convenience of being so close to Skegness and supermarkets was a bonus too!
Disliked: Nothing the campsite can do about it, but the site is on a very busy main road and you could hear the cars/bikes throughout the night.
