Top Yard Farm Caravan Park: View of the site

General

  • Small, family-friendly site in the Lincolnshire countryside
  • Two miles from Skegness and 15 minutes' drive from Ingoldmells
  • On-site play area and laundry facilities

Folk setting off for Skegness will certainly find a friendly welcome at Top Yard Farm Caravan Park, a small family-run site two miles from the lively resort on the Lincolnshire coast. And in settling here you'll be in a fine spot for seeing both Skegness and all the surrounding area has to offer. (Hint: quite a bit.)

You'll pick up on the amicable vibe as soon as you arrive at this well-maintained Lincolnshire spot, whether that's a welcome from the Top Yard Farm team themselves or meeting the other guests who come here for the family-friendly atmosphere. As well as being close to Skegness seafront, this site is about five minutes' drive from the village of Croft, where there's a pub that's just the thing for catching up with friends old and new over a drink or meals out when you just don't fancy cooking.

The facilities here are well kept, and include a toilet and shower block, a drinking water tap, and sinks for dishwashing and laundry. A play area is on hand to tire out the kids, and a dog walk for canine guests.

Please note

A charge of £0.50 (€0.59) applies for the use of the shower.

Reception is unmanned after 4 p.m.. Please inform the site while on your way there should you expect to arrive after this time, so that the team can provide information about your unit/pitch.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Group bookings of 6 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

Please note a high security barrier (6'4") is in place and is locked at all times. Please contact reception before passing through if you have a high vehicle or roof box/bikes.

It was mine and my families first time straying and it was lovely, it had all you needed, clean toilets, showers and a little bath in one, you do need 50p for the showers tho, however they last along time. Some were to wash your pots and a token machine so you can use your hairdryer and hair straightener’s. Owner was very friendly and helpful. There’s a little park for the younger ones and there is a pub, but it’s only open Fridays and Saturdays. Overall experience very happy and will definitely go again.

    Disliked:

Not really a dislike, but it is hard to fine the owner sometimes when you need her, there is a number to call, but made me feel like I was bothering her, so would be so much better if there was someone on reception at all times so you don’t feel your having to try and find her, waiting around or bothering her by calling. Also the abandoned caravans don’t make the camp site look very attractive. However the owner is very lovely and very helpful when she is around.

From the manager...

Hi Donna
Thank you for the lovely review we do appreciate you taking the time.
I'd just like to respond to your comment about getting in touch. I'm sure you noticed that this is a small family run site and that it is actually just run by the 2 of us? For this reason it is not feasible for one of us to be sat at reception all day and evening on the off chance one of our guests needs us. We have our phone number plastered all over the site and that is the best way to reach us. It is far less intrusive than people knocking at the house. We encourage every guest to use the number if required but if you chose not to then there is nothing we can do really?
We do look forward to seeing you again soon.

On arrival the Owner met us at Reception and guided us to our plot . Whilst pitching up a guy called Mick who is permanently sited there came and welcomed us and offered us a cuppa , which was a lovely gesture.
The site is quiet and friendly and you feel safe there .The Owner told us she was available by telephone at anytime if we needed anything. Security barriers are locked at the main entrance late at night , although you can ask for the code if you are staying out later .

    Disliked:

Nothing to dislike , yes the site is situated next to the main A52 so there's obviously traffic noise but you know that when you book it and tbh it's doesn't spoil the relaxing atmosphere of the site , so ignore the moaning reviews !!

Local attractions

Top Yard Farm is within easy travelling distance of Skegness town, its beach, pier and three-storey amusement arcade as well as non-seasidey town things like the National Parrot Sanctuary, Natureland Seal Sanctuary, Skegness Golf Centre and the Embassy Theatre. Bars, nightclubs and restaurants are plentiful too if you're sticking around in town into the night.

On the edge of Skegness running to the mouth of the Wash is another famed Lincolnshire coastal spot in the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve, home to gulls, waders and wildfowl around its lagoons, saltmarsh, dunes, foreshore and beach. The reserve has a visitor centre and a bird observatory, along with marked walks and trails.

A little further north along the coast are other much-visited seaside towns in Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe; Ingoldmells and the Fantasy Island theme park are a few miles south. Inland, pick up food, antiques, souvenirs and more at Lincolnshire's market towns like Spilsby (nine miles), Alford (15 miles), Louth (20 miles) and Boston (20 miles).
