Beautiful evening
Beautiful witham river our pod and touring field are on the river bank
Hardstanding and grass pitches
New tour field upgrade is all finished and looking amazing - 19 hard-standing pitches

  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a splendid Lincolnshire location this is – with easy access to the pitches on tarmac roads, dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Witham. You’re on holiday, so you’re justified in settling down by the water for lengthy periods with a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has a mile of fishing along the river, just 20 metres from the pitches – it’s good for tench, carp and bream. Keen to stay active? Lucky then that there’s a gym so you can fit in a good workout. Families can also amuse themselves at the playground and indoor pool (open during high season). If you are plane fans, RAF Conningsby and its World War II museum are 15 minutes’ drive away. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week), but regard it as your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the recently updated pub and restaurant has a beer garden overlooking the river. Every Friday night is happy hour between 5pm–7pm, and there are food offers on Saturday evenings as well as karaoke and bingo in the entertainment lounge. On Sundays, there’s a full carvery from 12pm until late. Local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car, and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Liked What a lovely place to stay! The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The views are absolutely stunning and made our stay even more special. Everything was peaceful, comfortable, and well looked after. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. We would happily visit again!

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Surrounding

Disliked We left the campsite early due to several unpleasant issues. I would have liked to speak with the owner in person before leaving, but he wasn't around. I subsequently sent the owner an email, but unfortunately, he never replied. That leaves me with no choice but to post a negative review. Several things were poorly handled or went wrong. To begin with, there were problems right from the start with the electricity connection. The power pedestal assigned to us was taped off and unavailable. Various other power connections weren't working either. Eventually, a staff member gave us a loaner cable so we could connect to a power point further away. The shower facilities weren't clean; the window in one of the showers was covered in cobwebs. The paper dispenser was empty but filled with gnats and other insects. There was also no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, which was very inconvenient. When leaving the shower area, I stepped into a hole that was hidden beneath the floor covering; I barely managed to keep my balance. Washing up was another issue; unfortunately, there was only one washing-up station, located right next to the chemical toilet disposal point. Very unhygienic. The owner's dog roamed the grounds off-leash—I don't mind that in itself, but it was frustrating that "guest" dogs were required to be on a leash. The owner's dog walked up to our camper and tried to get inside. Well, our dog didn't appreciate that—and rightly so; that is his territory, and he wants to protect it. Fortunately, nothing bad happened, but we struggled to chase the dog away. Finally, there was the embarrassing incident on the morning of our departure involving two fellow campers (who were likely campsite staff). There was a disagreement—which can happen—but this argument involved loud shouting and swearing that was clearly audible to everyone at the campsite. The man was loudly shouting "fucking this and that," and a door was slammed hard. I happened to be walking past on my way to the washrooms. It was very unpleasant; honestly, I felt sorry for the woman at whom the man was directing his anger. We have visited several campsites over the past few weeks, but unfortunately, this one gets a very poor rating from us. I would like a refund for the cost of one night's stay.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Great riverside location, friendly staff and locals, facilities pretty good , amazing food and entertainment including karaoke. Pool table and darts all good. A good effort to make everyone feel welcome. Pub down the river also so perfect if paddle boarding etc.

Disliked Campervan pitch more expensive than booking a pod which is strange, no non electric option if you have an off grid van.

Liked Great access to river for paddle boards, good facilities (toilets showers etc), each hard standing plot has been levelled so no messing just pull up and crack on. Clubhouse beers and food was fantastic the burgers are something special - the people we met as well as the owner were extremely welcoming and friendly great atmosphere. The karaoke was good until we got hold of the mic lol 😂

Liked We stayed here while using our jet ski at Lake Tattershall, and the campsite is only about 8 minutes away, making it a perfect location if you have a campervan, motorhome, or are towing a trailer. We were able to park our jet ski trailer right next to our campervan, which was really convenient.

Phil was an excellent host—very welcoming, friendly, and helpful from the moment we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made us feel right at home.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this campsite. We’ll certainly be back!

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre (10 minutes). Take off to Tattershall Castle (10 minutes’ drive) – a textbook version with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from youngsters (and probably their parents too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
