What a splendid Lincolnshire location this is – with easy access to the pitches on tarmac roads, dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Witham. You’re on holiday, so you’re justified in settling down by the water for lengthy periods with a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has a mile of fishing along the river, just 20 metres from the pitches – it’s good for tench, carp and bream. Keen to stay active? Lucky then that there’s a gym so you can fit in a good workout. Families can also amuse themselves at the playground and indoor pool (open during high season). If you are plane fans, RAF Conningsby and its World War II museum are 15 minutes’ drive away. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week), but regard it as your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the recently updated pub and restaurant has a beer garden overlooking the river. Every Friday night is happy hour between 5pm–7pm, and there are food offers on Saturday evenings as well as karaoke and bingo in the entertainment lounge. On Sundays, there’s a full carvery from 12pm until late. Local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car, and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

Liked Stopped here for 1 night.
Fishing was great as the pods are located right at the a side of the river witham.
Has great amenities on site from the tavern, swimming pool, gym.
Serves food in the tavern in the evenings too. This was delicious.
The site has also been taken over by another company,

Friendly staff
Good food
We enjoyed our first stay so much we returned 3 weeks later. The pool is a great addition and we spent hours In it at a time. We made full use of it and was happy to find the pool table on our second stay. We enjoyed plenty of time walking up the lake and really is a nice place just to relax for a few days.

Disliked No information about times for activities that are on so we missed them both stays, also no information on restraunt opening times.

Liked Fuss free. Good comms from the site owner. Clean pod. Good loos, and shower block. Quiet site despite being popular with families. Super location. Parking next to the pod. Motorcycle friendly. Fridge in pod. Veranda for chilling out in the evening.

Disliked Very unpleasant stay this time round, pool closed due to contaminated from drunken men jumping in the lake then the on site pool for the kids

Wont let me upload all facilities that are out of order...

Bed collapsed at 5.40am had clearly been repaired several times before due to amount of large screws & cracks

Liked Site was well spaced and quiet managers were friendly and welcoming
Apologetic for standard maintenance on site as they had only just taken control.of site

Disliked Due to very dry weather the ground around the hard standing was very uneven. Also due to that same issue where bushes had been cut they didnt look very nice.
Facilities are tired and worn but have been advised by new manager that this is in hand. A site notice board would be a good idea to let campers know timings for pool bar and food etc

Great cycle route only takes 1hr45m to get to Lincoln city.

Liked My daughter and I had a lovely welcome. The new owners are great! They will go out of their way to make your stay a great one. The pod was clean and very comfortable. My daughter and I loved the swimming pool. The bar was great too with great prices! We will definitely be going back!

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre (10 minutes). Take off to Tattershall Castle (10 minutes’ drive) – a textbook version with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from youngsters (and probably their parents too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
