Beautiful evening
Beautiful witham river our pod and touring field are on the river bank
Hardstanding and grass pitches
New tour field upgrade is all finished and looking amazing - 19 hard-standing pitches

  • Scenic park on the river Witham, 10 minutes' drive from Tattershall
  • A 35-minute drive from Lincoln and 15 from Tattershall Farm Park
  • Playground, river fishing, waterside walks and pub-restaurant on site
What a splendid Lincolnshire location this is – with easy access to the pitches on tarmac roads, dog-friendly Riverview Caravan Park sits on the banks of the River Witham. You’re on holiday, so you’re justified in settling down by the water for lengthy periods with a book and/or picnic. Keep that view in sight by heading out for a waterside walk or launching your own paddleboard or kayak from the boat jetty too. Keen to go fishing? The site has a mile of fishing along the river, just 20 metres from the pitches – it’s good for tench, carp and bream. Keen to stay active? Lucky then that there’s a gym so you can fit in a good workout. Families can also amuse themselves at the playground and indoor pool (open during high season). If you are plane fans, RAF Conningsby and its World War II museum are 15 minutes’ drive away. Fighter jets and the occasional Lancaster fly overhead, so it can get a bit noisy (especially during the week), but regard it as your own personal air show and enjoy the sights. When it comes to food, the recently updated pub and restaurant has a beer garden overlooking the river. Every Friday night is happy hour between 5pm–7pm, and there are food offers on Saturday evenings as well as karaoke and bingo in the entertainment lounge. On Sundays, there’s a full carvery from 12pm until late. Local town Tattershall is less than 10 minutes away by car, and Lincoln city centre around 35 minutes.

What customers say

Riverview Campsite offers a friendly atmosphere with many guests praising the helpfulness of owner Phil and his team. Located by the river, it's ideal for walks and plane spotting at nearby RAF Coningsby. Pods are well-equipped and good value. Facilities are generally clean and well-maintained, though some areas like the shower block and washing-up facilities require updating. The pool is not heated, which was a drawback for some. Management actively addresses feedback, with ongoing improvements planned.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked The location was lovely right next to the river and great for walking with a pub close by

Disliked The toilet facilities at the site were really poor and not clean at all. Bits of plasterboard leant against the toilet block and overall looked untidy and disorganised. The pitches were very small compared with other sites and it felt like they have tried to cram as many pitches in as possible to maximise profit. There was only one water tap that we could see and that was part of a serviced pitch. Luckily it was empty so we were able to fill up our motorhome. The bar and restaurant area looked okay but we did not try the food as the cleanliness of the rest of the site put us off. Overall very disappointing and we would not stay here again which is sad as the area and location were nice.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Our visit started well , friendly hosts who made us feel really welcome. Nice indoor bar , great food - Buns on the run.

Disliked The shower block/toilet were absolutley disgusting. Ladies had choice of 2 showers. 1 in darkness and the other with broken doors . No handsoap at sinks. Cobwebs everywhere. The outdoor sink for dishes... awful , the tap leaks underneath and sprays everywhere. Overflowing bins.
The site is on a path along a river which is lovely but has no security. I had my brand new basket stolen off my bike , (screwed on tightly with nuts and bolts btw) they even stole my dogs bowl! It absolutley ruined our
stay.

Camping pod

Liked It was cheap in a good location.

Disliked The table in the pod was broken. The smoke alarm had no battery. I had to wait 45 minutes to recieve my keys to the pod (I arrived at the correct time). The showers had no hot water. The sinks in the bathroom had no soap. Contacted owner who did not respond. He eventually replied that he would sort the fire alarm and table the following day. He did not, and they remained broken for the remaining 2 days.

From the manager: Thank you so much fir your review
It makes you understand there are people in this world that are realy not nice people

Yes you contacted me
I sorry my team were booking in other clients and you did not have to wait 45 muinets

Yes you reported the table leg was broken at about 8pm in the everning

I contacted my house keeping manager who was at home with her family
She instantly returned to the site and met your self and offerd to move you to another pod

But you refused saying you would mend the table leg your self and every thing was ok

So to recieve this review and after we bent over backwards as thing happen but its hiw we resolve the problems

So for this very sorry

I see from your photos of the gym which is only used by our residence

Were are the photo of the amazing club house
The food bt our amazing younge cheffs

The long walks down the river
And photos of our touring field ranked numbet 1 in Lincolnshire out of 345 others in the county

I hate lies and they must undersrand the damage they do to my hard working team
Enjoy you happy life as you stayed only one everning
Payed £30

Camping pod

Liked Phil and his wife are both good people and made us feel very welcome. The campsite is fantastic and in a beautiful location. Very dog friendly. The pods are lovely and very cozy and great value for money. The food is very tasty, well presented, portion sizes are good and it was on the table within a few minutes. Can't wait to go back

Disliked Having to leave 😢

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Nothing

Disliked Half of the electric points dont work leaving limited pitches. Cant get to fresh water point for site rubbish on pathway.very poorly maintianed site.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Again in life

You arived late checked your self on yo a pitch
That has not got power hook up

But if you would have contacted me we woukd have guided you to your correct pitch

But no

Then you gave a sweeping statement that half of out pitch do not have power (wrong .if so why is the no other review about this ) all have power

I hate lies and people that can leave comments that have no understanding hiw damaging they are especially I'm when they are untrue

There are 4 stand pipes around our small park giving ample water

But I guess you coukd not see them just like you miss counted how pitch did not have electric

All have electric

Next time just check in with reception before helping uoyr self

And again why did you jmnot bring this up when you were at river view

Local attractions

Having viewed your own bit of the river, it’s likely that you’ll be enticed into getting out for a walk – especially when you learn that there are a couple of riverside pubs nearby. There’s more strolling to be done in Tattershall Lakes Country Park (five minutes’ drive), plus the chance of watery activity at Just Wake wakeboarding centre (10 minutes). Take off to Tattershall Castle (10 minutes’ drive) – a textbook version with a moat and 15th-century tower to potter around. Just outside town is Tattershall Farm Park (15 minutes), where egg collecting, sheep shearing and hanging out with hairy Highland cows are likely to meet with approval from youngsters (and probably their parents too…). A day out in Lincoln (35 minutes) must surely be on the list – it’s got a real slice of history, being home to one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time if you catch a film at Kinema in the Woods (15 minutes) too: the flicks have been running since 1922 and there’s still a resident organist to provide the tunes.
