Syntes ikke om We arrived and were initially greeted by a man who appeared to contact the owner or manager before advising us to choose a pitch. We settled in, set up the TentBox, and got everything ready for our stay. As we had a young child eager to use the swimming pool, we headed there shortly after arriving.

Unfortunately, when we reached the pool area, a woman informed us that the pool was closed for decorating. She also advised that the pub and restaurant would not be opening until Thursday, despite the website stating Wednesday. Disappointed, we returned to our pitch to consider our options and decided to contact the site to request a refund and leave.

We spoke with Phil, who was polite and reassuring. He explained that the information we had been given was incorrect, confirming that the bar and restaurant would in fact open on Wednesday, and that although the pool area was being decorated, it was still available for use. Phil also stated that the website clearly advised the swimming pool was closed. However, after checking and taking screenshots ourselves, this was not the case at all. The website specifically stated: “The indoor swimming pool is open between 01/05 and 31/08.”

Taking him at his word, we returned to the pool. However, after getting changed and ready to swim, we discovered the water was absolutely freezing — far too cold to comfortably use, especially with a child. While the pool itself looked clean and well maintained, the temperature made it unusable unless you wanted to risk hypothermia. Website clearly states its heated, obviously not.

Given the long five-hour journey and having already paid £70 for two nights, we chose to stay the evening, cook food at our pitch, and leave the following morning. It was disappointing to feel so out of pocket, particularly as the facilities we had expected to use were either unavailable or not fit for purpose.

The following morning, we used the shower facilities, which were clean and perfectly acceptable. Overall, the campsite clearly has a lot of potential. Some areas could benefit from updating, but we personally found the site’s condition reasonable despite some overly critical reviews we had previously read.

Had the pool been heated to a usable temperature, our experience would likely have been very different. Having now stayed here ourselves, I’ll reserve further judgement. Will be requesting a refund. Nothing on website or pitchup contrary to Phil's reassuring words.

Yes you did call me on Tuesday everning asking about the bar

I did explain as I said stated on the pitch up details
The bar clubhouse is open
Wednesday through to sunday

You did ask about the pool I did say yes it's open and it duely is open from the 1st May

The person I beleave you spoke to was one of riverview amazing residence ( owners of caravan ) not a member of our team

I have checked a few times just .
Know were dose it state the pool is heated
So your statement is fauls and misleading and not correct
As you can see our reviews are amazing and under pitch up we are ranked 2nd in Lincolnshire out of 380 our touring sites
Which we are very proud

I will contact you personally to resolved these issues
As you have not contacted since our first phone call and your early departure. Only this misleading and fauls reviews

Syntes om Absolutely beautiful place by the river! Stunning walks, the most friendliest place everybody is welcomed in the pub. Was karaoke night and we all loved it! We will definitely be returning

Syntes om Lovely site Phil & Staff are Fab right near the river for me to go paddle boarding not far from Woodhall spa , or Horncastle to visit yeah really enjoyed it, & will visit again.The pods look amazing

Syntes ikke om Showers not amazing held up by zip ties & press button on the water was realy slow I showered in my own van one day, in my opinion the Elsan point needs a hose to rinse out your toilet, the dishwashing facilities are right next to the elsan point

Syntes om Great camp site, good size pitches, excellent owner, felt very welcome from the start and all staff was brilliant!

RAF planes flying over during the day was great to see.

Onsite bar with food served, good steak meal and evening entertainment, great camp site for our first Touring caravan holiday!

We will be returning!!

Syntes ikke om Only feedback we have was the chemical waste could do with a hose to clean up with, but we used water bottles and refilled to clean with, so no issue, just would help.

Syntes om Good level pitches, nice scenery along the river. Quiet, peaceful and the manager Phil was friendly and gave us a bottle of juice as I had forgotten to bring it and there is no shops nearby. Lovely to see the old war planes flying over and all the wildlife along the riverside.

Syntes ikke om This site is located in a beautiful spot but with a few upgrades it could be so much better. Only 2 showers in the ladies amenities and the paper towel holders did not get filled once in the three days we stayed, went to the gym next to the pool on second morning to find most of the equipment broken, tried to have a meal in the club house waiting 45minutes after asking if we could order to be told the chef had 20 takeaway meals to do first so there would be a wait as only 1 chef who was cooking and also waiting on. No shop on site or close by to top up on milk, bread etc.Drinks expensive at the bar. No hose at the elsan point.

But I see you enjoyed playing pool in our new sport area .
The bottle squash I drove 5 miles to the nearest shop just to get it for you

I very sorry my godly powers could not move the holiday park closer to the shops as we are in the middle of the beautiful Lincolnshire contryside

If I would have known you were part of the toilet paper police
I.think we git through 150 rolls this week end
People love to take them as a momento

But serous campers bring there own

I very sorry our beer prices are not working mans or witherspoon prices
But 5 pounds for a pint and 6.50 fir a double gin tonic is not to bad

The complaint about have only 2 showers for the ladies . Well that's a first

There only 14 hard standing pitches

People work realy hard over every week end to.make our guest have a loverly time and as you can see with the other amazing review 10. Out 10s

Syntes om Warm welcome on arrival, allowed to pick my own pitch, site facilities explained.
Generous sized pitches with hookup and water easily accessible. Toilet and shower block clean, plenty of hot water. Grassed areas regularly mowed. bar well stocked and food excellent. Lovely walks off site, ideal for dog owners. Enjoyed watching the aircraft circling daily and watching the narrow boats on the river.
