What customers say
This campsite offers beautiful lakeside locations and a wide range of water-based activities, making it popular with families. Visitors frequently praise the friendly staff, clean facilities, and spacious pitches. The lake is a highlight for water sports, fishing, and wildlife. While many find the site peaceful and well-maintained, some reviews mention dated toilet and shower blocks, occasional issues with cleanliness, and a need for better drainage on pitches. Despite these points, many visitors express a desire to return.

We stayed here for 3 nights…
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked We stayed here for 3 nights from 16/10/2025 and we had a lovely time, the view over the lake was lovely, grounds are well kept, lots of fish and ducks to watch, great place to go fishing if you are into that, also great for sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, Nick the warden was very helpful with any information we needed, we will be visiting again next year in the summer,
Disliked It looks like they have plans to change the whole site to static-homes and lodges over the next few years, and not have any touring, that will be a shame for the touring community,

Nice location but lots of room for campsite improvements.
Non-electric grass touring pitch
Liked Nice setting with lake and trees. Good walking/cycling in the area and many of the roads fairly quiet.
Disliked Too many barking dogs and undisciplined dogs (mostly from permanent pitches). The ablution facilities are a bit tired and not very clean.
Grass pitch areas are unhygienic as dog walkers take their dogs for toilet activities in those areas (there should be separate dog walk areas).
