Want to spend your holidays lakeside – perhaps relaxing as you wait for fish to bite or honing your paddleboarding skills? You can do all this and more at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, a family-oriented touring site spread over 50 acres in the Warwickshire countryside. There are 20 acres of lakes here, so you can get up to a wide range of watersports, from boating and kayaking to windsurfing, plus the above-mentioned paddleboarding and fishing. Taster sessions may be available if you fancy trying out something new. There are also colourful pedalos shaped like flamingos, swans and dragons, so you can cut a fine figure on the lake. Fishing in the pools is included for one person in the group (and under 14s go free), and additional adults can join for just a short fee per day. Back on dry land, you can relax on the sandy lake beaches or head to the site’s 12-hole crazy golf course with a nautical theme. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a fab adventure playground, with a dedicated section for youngsters under five. Several picnic and barbecue areas are available, with café and pub catering a mile to the east in the pleasant town of Market Bosworth (five minutes’ drive). Dogs are welcome at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, but they need to be kept on leads at all times. Please note that this site only accepts family groups and couples aged over 25. On-site facilities include a dedicated toilet and shower block, washing-up facilities, Elsan disposal, fresh water and waste disposal. Calor and Campingaz bottles are available for exchange.

喜欢 A beautiful pitch that you felt you could be anywhere.
Plenty to do, without there being too much around.
Staff go above and beyond and Ros at reception truly made our stay perfect.
Toilets and showers were close to the pitch which was ideal.
Late check in was simple. Despite reception being closed, everything was laid out for us, with simple instructions.
It had a community feel that made us want to stay longer. We will definitely be returning.

喜欢 Strange place this in general a great place but very dead no atmosphere very run down touring site but strangely very peaceful and enjoyable lots of residential pitches that are very low end residential with shower/toilet facilities very dated but so strange as they have what will be £200k lodges on site a weird combination of exclusive with council houses a bizarre combination really that am not convinced about but maybe it’s work in progress don’t let it put you off try it but not for long unless your are into fishing or canoeing

喜欢 Location is great for many family days out. The park in the middle is great for kids, but by far the best is the lake which offered many activities. Having the ducks roaming was lovely too

不喜欢 The toilet and showers could do with a de cobweb and a lick of paint

喜欢 Extremely peaceful, yet plenty full! Wonderful scenery, thoroughly enjoyed feeding the ducks and fish, the lake is stunning and pedalos reasonably priced and great fun. Plenty for the kids to do, for a local (to us) site that feels private and peaceful i think we've found our regular site. Great that its private to those booked on too so very safe for the kids to explore. Will definitely be back!! Facilities were great too.

喜欢 Lovely location, beautiful views on the lakes, staff was polite and very friendly , we all had goes on the pedalo and rowing boats, loads of ducks just casually walking around, fishing went for about an hour and court 2 decent size carp, nice stroll around the lake itself , a park for the kids, definitely be back again well maintained pitches and everyone onside was friendly wether it be staff or just visitors

喜欢 Well kept site. When we visited (early September) it still had plenty of visitors, but was not at all crowded, and felt peaceful. The lake is pretty, the site is clean, and staff were helpful. Close to a heritage railway line for those interested!

Twycross Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) is home to almost 100 different species of animals, with a special focus on primates – from great apes like gorillas and orangutans, to monkeys – plus lemurs and meerkats. Younger children might like the immersive touch-and-feel activities in the Gruffalo Discovery Land. The kids may not be in school, but there are real-life history lessons at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (10 minutes). Here you can take a guided walk around the fields where the 1485 battle took place, learn about the War of the Roses and discover how King Richard III lost his life in the fray. There are also children’s hunts and talks. Leave the past behind and zoom ahead to the future (or at least into space) at Leicester’s National Space Centre (35 minutes). You can experience what it’s like inside the International Space Station, see a sample of moon rock and learn about the universe in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium.
