Bosworth Lakeside Lodges: Lake view

General

  • Large touring site in Warwickshire, with 20 acres of lakes
  • Twycross Zoo 10 minutes’ drive; National Space Centre 35 minutes
  • Lake beaches for sailing, paddleboarding, fishing and windsurfing

Want to spend your holidays lakeside – perhaps relaxing as you wait for fish to bite or honing your paddleboarding skills? You can do all this and more at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, a family-oriented touring site spread over 50 acres in the Warwickshire countryside.

There are 20 acres of lakes here, so you can get up to a wide range of watersports, from boating and kayaking to windsurfing, plus the above-mentioned paddleboarding and fishing. Taster sessions may be available if you fancy trying out something new. There are also colourful pedalos shaped like flamingos, swans and dragons, so you can cut a fine figure on the lake.

Back on dry land, you can relax on the sandy lake beaches or head to the site’s 12-hole crazy golf course with a nautical theme. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a fab adventure playground, with a dedicated section for youngsters under five. Several picnic and barbecue areas are available, with café and pub catering a mile to the east in the pleasant town of Market Bosworth (five minutes’ drive).

Dogs are welcome at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, but they need to be kept on leads at all times. Please note that this site only accepts family groups and couples aged over 25. On-site facilities include a dedicated toilet and shower block, washing-up facilities, Elsan disposal, fresh water and waste disposal. Calor and Campingaz bottles are available for exchange.

The lake is fantastic plenty to do for all ages from swimming to paddle boarding to fishing. It really is a beautiful campsite. The pitches are fabulous and huge we stayed electric grass all the amenities are so close and the 11pm noise cut off is perfect and sets you up ready for another fabulous day. The staff are lovely and so helpful. It really is a little hidden gem.

    Disliked:

That it won’t be around for long as being made into private lodges :( so much business will be lost not having any part of the site for caravan and motor homes.

Really clean site, good size pitches - liked the fact the pitches were sectioned off with small fences so you had your own specific plot. Pitch was level, easy to get our trailer tent pitched on it!

My children were 3 and 6 and really enjoyed the little beach on the lake.

    Disliked:

We stayed for 3 nights, 2 of the nights a caravan across the way was playing LOUD music until 2am. Perhaps the warden needs to be more pro-active in telling people to keep the noise levels down.

We were on the edge of the lake so had beautiful views from our motorhome. We had a little low wooden fence around our pitch with a gate opening to the edge of the lake and picnic tables. Lots of ducks and cute ducklings waddling around, so cute! It was so peaceful and the toilet and shower facilities were excellent, spotless at all times. Would definitely recommend and return in the future.

We had a great weekend, we had booked non electric as that is all that was available on pitchup but thankfully when we arrived the site were veyy try accommodating and allowed us to change to electric for a small fee. The site itself was lovely, lots for the kids and us to do from water sports and fishing to digging sand castles and playing on the park. We will definitely be visiting again!

    Disliked:

The free WiFi didn’t reach our pitch but we wouldn’t have really used it anyway so didn’t affect our stay really.

We had a waterfront pitch was nice, level & of a good size. The site itself is very secure with two barriers for entry in and out. The staff member at reception was very helpful. We could take the paddle boards in on the lake and it was ideal as so calm. Kids loved paddling down by the lake.
Showers were nice and warm although bit dated & tired looking.

    Disliked:

I am aware that the park is moving more towards private lakeside lodges which is fine, however it did show in the lack of care regarding the facilities. The rubbish bins were overflowing and the general area around here was unpleasant. The shower and toilet facilities were dated but clean in the ladies, however the men’s were absolutely disgusting. There were faeces all over one of the toilets making it unusable and mud and filth in the sinks. Not so much the campsite staffs fault as perhaps some of the dubious characters they had allowed to stay there.

There also has been a considerable amount of rain over the last weeks which meant the whole site was a bit of a mud bath. Obviously if it was being invested in I’m presuming there would be better drainage s as the pitches and roadways we’re considerably water logged.
