  • Large touring site in Warwickshire, with 20 acres of lakes
  • Twycross Zoo 10 minutes’ drive; National Space Centre 35 minutes
  • Lake beaches for sailing, paddleboarding, fishing and windsurfing
Want to spend your holidays lakeside – perhaps relaxing as you wait for fish to bite or honing your paddleboarding skills? You can do all this and more at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, a family-oriented touring site spread over 50 acres in the Warwickshire countryside. There are 20 acres of lakes here, so you can get up to a wide range of watersports, from boating and kayaking to windsurfing, plus the above-mentioned paddleboarding and fishing. Taster sessions may be available if you fancy trying out something new. There are also colourful pedalos shaped like flamingos, swans and dragons, so you can cut a fine figure on the lake. Fishing in the pools is included for one person in the group (and under 14s go free), and additional adults can join for just a short fee per day. Back on dry land, you can relax on the sandy lake beaches or head to the site’s 12-hole crazy golf course with a nautical theme. For the kids, meanwhile, there's a fab adventure playground, with a dedicated section for youngsters under five. Several picnic and barbecue areas are available, with café and pub catering a mile to the east in the pleasant town of Market Bosworth (five minutes’ drive). Dogs are welcome at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges, but they need to be kept on leads at all times. Please note that this site only accepts family groups and couples aged over 25. On-site facilities include a dedicated toilet and shower block, washing-up facilities, Elsan disposal, fresh water and waste disposal. Calor and Campingaz bottles are available for exchange.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)

Liked We paid extra for the waterside and all I can say is it was worth it! Absolutely stunning view of the lake.

Disliked Unfortunately the only downside was that the waterfront pitches are right behind the kids play area and beach which meant it got quiet loud at times.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lots of space between caravans. Great walk around the lake. Lots of water activities - fishing, “swan” pedal boats, canoeing and boating, crazy golf, children’s playground and LOTS of spacious areas for kids to play their own games. Helpful staff. Clean showers and toilets and convenient water taps. Elsan point and gas cylinder sales.

Disliked Over a mile from civilisation but we walked into Market Bosworth in just over a half hour.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Great communication, I checked in out of hours, and everything was ready for me with a not to my exact pitch.

The Lakeside Ducks add a lot of character and soon come looking for food the VERY minute you start cooking.

Everything was spot on, showers, water points, pitch.....everything.

Had a run round the lake in the morning, loads of ducks sleeping and big bird of pray looking for food.

Thank you.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)

Liked Lovely welcome from the owners. Lakeside pitch was very spacious and views of the lake was wonderful. Park on site was perfect for all ages of children, and pedal boats brilliant for the family to enjoy. Enjoyed watching the boat racing too on the lake and man made beach perfect for hot days- children spent all day playing in the water and sand. Visited twycross zoo during our stay which was amazing and only 10 mins away. Will definitely return. Thank you for an amazing stay.

Disliked No family room for showering which helps with 2 small children - otherwise we managed fine.

Local attractions

Twycross Zoo (10 minutes’ drive) is home to almost 100 different species of animals, with a special focus on primates – from great apes like gorillas and orangutans, to monkeys – plus lemurs and meerkats. Younger children might like the immersive touch-and-feel activities in the Gruffalo Discovery Land. The kids may not be in school, but there are real-life history lessons at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (10 minutes). Here you can take a guided walk around the fields where the 1485 battle took place, learn about the War of the Roses and discover how King Richard III lost his life in the fray. There are also children’s hunts and talks. Leave the past behind and zoom ahead to the future (or at least into space) at Leicester’s National Space Centre (35 minutes). You can experience what it’s like inside the International Space Station, see a sample of moon rock and learn about the universe in the Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium.
