Expensive for quality of facilities
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked Decent sized pitch with view of the main lake, checking staff friendly, Location
Disliked Gravel hard standing pitches all looked in poor muddy condition, toilets and showers were very grubby / Cold and need a total overhaul I feel the site is only interested in the lodges as that part of the site was very well kept with tarmac roads etc

The view of lake…
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked The view of lake
Disliked The site itself needs major update, the pitches are uneven which causes water build up, drainage was block and was extremely smelly, shower block needs attention. There is construction work going on which we were not told about prior to visit or even when we check in.

Good site and staff, the lodge encounter spoilt our stay.
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked We found the reception team genuinely friendly and welcoming. Our pitch was perfectly fine for our stay, and the facilities around the site were clean, tidy, and well looked after, the site felt organised and pleasant.
Disliked Unfortunately, our family walk around the lakes didn’t go as expected. Wanting to avoid the wet grass after recent rain, we walked along the outer edge near the newer lodges. As we approached, someone shouted from a window asking if we were from the caravan area. When we confirmed we were, we were abruptly told it was private and asked if we could read the leaflet. Because of the tone, we simply turned around and headed back. A few minutes later, the warden approached us to say a complaint had been made about us by the lodge owner. To be fair, the warden was polite and professional, but it did feel excessive given we were only trying to take a walk. The leaflet mentions respecting lodge owners and the park, but nothing about restricted areas, so it came as a surprise.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked We stayed on a fully serviced pitch overlooking the lake, it was very spacious, level and had great views even if a little waterlogged....but where isn't this time of year !!
The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Will come back again in the late spring/early summer.
Disliked Toilet/shower facilities adequate. They are currently painting to refresh but they are very dated.
No recycling of rubbish, all goes in the general bin.

Nice location but it a poor state .
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked Lovely location but it's very run down roads are terrible pitches are waterlogged poor drainage..but I did read that's it's all going to become used for static caravans so that's probably why it's be left to get to such a poor state .

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked The lake was nice and the kids play area.
Disliked Couldn't get the pegs in the ground to put the awning up.paid for a full serviced pitch which included wifi.there wasn't any wifi at all anywhere.we told them about it but they just brushed it off.

clean toilet and shower block, Lovely views from the gravel pitches.
Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (waterside)
Liked Specious gravel pitch over looking the lake, which is a beautiful view. Nice gated enclosure with access to lake.
Decent enough park.
While showers are outdated and would be busy in peak season, they were cleaned often and constant hot water
Disliked The roads near the gravel pitches are in need of resurfacing badly. Huge puddles that were hard to manoeuvre round for the children on their bikes. The lodge areas paths were really smooth, biking near that was very smooth. Shame about the touring areas.

Not for me. Seems more like a local site where people live
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Sadly I was unwell, circumstances beyond my control. They refused to rearrange ( I do appreciate the 14day no cancellation period ) but I feel that could relaxed in winter months and for illness . I had only booked a few weeks earlier.I only went for one night in the end. I had to call twice after I spoke to them as failed to send the entry details. The hardstand was waterlogged and I stepped out of the camper into deep mud. Arrived at dark as we stayed for our visit to the snowdome so it was difficult to park properly as no lighting on the site. Facilities were okay - showers not brilliant. The warden was helpful as I had a flat battery and jump started the van for me. Site was full of caravans that appeared to be permanently pitched and there were children running around and not supervised. I was glad my stay was short and I’m afraid I probably won’t go back or use Pitch up again as their cancellation policies are not brilliant. Such a shame as the lake looked amazing
Disliked Pitches waterlogged. Showers leaked. Poor lighting
