  • Peaceful, dog-friendly farm site two miles from Moreton-in-Marsh
  • A 10-minute drive to Sezincote Estate; half an hour to Blenheim Palace
  • Firepits for hire; Diddly Squat Farm Shop 15 minutes’ drive
Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked We had such a great stay here! The site was easy to find. It was busy over the bank holiday but there was still plenty of space between tents. We stayed on the far right side and the trees provided shade, especially helpful as we were camping with our puppy. The facilities were fantastic, both the indoor and outdoor showers and toilets were spotless and really well maintained. The price felt fair considering the quality of the site and amenities. Our puppy especially loved having the dog park all to himself!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted you found the site easy to find and enjoyed the space, even over a busy bank holiday weekend. The shaded spots by the trees are always a favourite, and we’re glad they worked well for you and your puppy. It’s lovely to hear you made the most of both the indoor and outdoor facilities and that the dog park was a hit too! We really appreciate your kind words about the value and care we put into the site, and we’d be very happy to welcome you back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon.

Richard S.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Very friendly and professional from check-in to departure.
Toilet, shower and washing up facilities are some of the best.
Renting fire pits was great, really easy and delivered to your pitch along with fire lighters, kindling and logs.
Plenty of space to pick your own pitch.
Everyone had really well-behaved dogs (and kept on leads) and well-behaved children (who were a bit more free range!)
Moreton-in-Marsh only about 2 miles to walk.
Quiet site with no activities or loud music.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks so much, Richard, for leaving such a thoughtful review. It really made us smile reading your comments. We’re so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay, from the relaxed check-in to having a fire pit delivered straight to your pitch (logs, kindling, and all!). It’s lovely to hear you found the facilities up to scratch and that you appreciated the peaceful atmosphere where both dogs and children could enjoy themselves in their own way. We’re especially grateful that you’d happily recommend us and return, that really means a lot. We hope the walk into Moreton-in-Marsh was a nice bonus too. It would be a real pleasure to welcome you all back again before too long.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Staff were friendly and welcoming, facilities were very clean, location was good for accessing the area. Really liked the outdoor hut toilets and sinks and they were needed as well as the new facilities in the barn to cope with demand.

Disliked Signs would be useful for water disposal location and water tap

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much, Jane, for your lovely review and for sharing such wonderful photos, Ruby looks very happy exploring the site! We’re delighted you and your family enjoyed the warm welcome, the clean facilities, and the mix of outdoor huts alongside the new barn facilities. It’s great to know this helped make your stay more comfortable, even when the site was busy.
We really appreciate your feedback about clearer signage for water points and disposal, that’s very helpful and something we’ll look at improving. We’d love to welcome you all (and Ruby!) back to Pebbly Barn Farm again soon.

Local attractions

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
