Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Gostou Great location, friendly welcome & immaculate facilities, of which there's also plenty to go around too - no queues for the loos! There's also a great dog walking area, including a secure, fenced field for dogs to play! A great site I will definitely visit again & would 100% recommend.

Gostou Lovely campsite, very big area, able to park up where you choose. Facilities very clean and in good working order. We walked from campsite down into Moreton which took about half an hour. Very peaceful surroundings and good views of the countryside.

Não gostou Some solar lighting near the toilet blocks may help at night - but we brought a torch so all good.

Gostou This is a beautiful pop up site. The open space is amazing and while you have neighbours you are not crowded. The kids had a great time playing ball games. The facilities, huts and new shower block were extremely clean. Already recommended to a couple we met in Moreton who were travelling from Devon to Cambridge. A great stay. Thank you John.

Gostou A beautiful, well kept site. Lovely and peaceful with lots of space. We were told we could park anywhere and choose a great spot under the tree in the middle which had good shade for our dogs. The barn also has a new toilet/shower/ washing up block which is immaculate. The owner and staff are very friendly and are always about cleaning.

Gostou This campsite was absolutely wonderful, the facilities are amazing and you can tell the owners take pride in their land. We only stayed for one night, but could have easily stayed for longer. Both the little toilet huts & new shower barn were spotless.

Não gostou If I had to pick one thing to improve, then it would be that there were no plug points in the shower barn for a hairdryer. This is very minor though!

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
