Step into the splendid Gloucestershire countryside and set up camp just two miles from the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh in the Cotswolds National Landscape. With Pebbly Barn Farm as your base, fab, far-reaching views are a given, as is a warm welcome into a peaceful retreat where well-behaved dogs are welcomed on leads and adventures in the Cotswolds are within easy reach… Once you’ve pitched up your tent in the roomy fields here, set off on the walking and cycling trails in the surrounding area (some of them begin very close by). You could make off to Moreton-in-Marsh's antique emporiums, tearooms, art galleries and delis, half an hour’s walk away, or time your visit right for the town’s Tuesday open-air market. With the Four Shire Stone on the outskirts of the town, another option is standing in the old meeting point of the four counties of Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire (cool, huh?) There's also plenty of scope for tasty dinnertimes, with cafés, restaurants and pubs (including a couple rumoured to be past haunts of the author J.R.R. Tolkien) on the town high street and barbecues permitted on site (on a proper stand to protect the grass). The famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop is also 15 minutes' drive away. As for when the sun goes down, there are firepits for hire on site. The facilities here include toilets, showers and a handy dishwashing area, all close to the peaceful pitches. And though it may be rural, you won't be cut off here as Moreton-in-Marsh’s train station has routes to London and Cheltenham, and bus services go to many Cotswold towns and villages.

Syntes om The facilities( toilets, showers and washing up) were absolutely spotless at all times. The site is well maintained and there is a lovely dog walk down to a stream. Will definitely be back

Syntes om Exactly as described and the farm owner is lovely, welcoming and very helpful. We booked and pitched up within a matter of hours as a last minute trip, and were even able to add family members on late in the day! The space is a big open field which means there is loads of flexibility and space between campers. We had a brilliant time Thankyou!

Syntes om The campsite was clean and welcoming, the grass neatly mown. Lots of choice where to pitch. John, the owner is friendly and helpful, nothing is to much trouble. All the toilets, showers and washing facilities spotless and well maintained and thought out. The campsite was quiet and at night it's lovely to listen to the owls.
We walked into Morton in Marsh in the evening where we found a huge amount choice of food available. Both nights we ate couldn't be faulted. It was

Syntes om Fabulous site with lovely surroundings. Lovely welcome, some of the best and super clean toilets and showers we have encountered on camping sites. Prices are very reasonable too. Chemical waste available along with fresh water. Approximately 35 mins walk into Moreton in the Marsh. Definitely go here again.

The easiest way to the site is off the A44 via an unnamed road signposted Evenlode. Follow this road for one mile until you reach the entrance, which is a black-wrought iron gate and railings with a sign for Pebbly Barn Farm.

Where can a 10-minute car ride get you? It turns out, a lot of places. There’s the dog-friendly plant centre and café at the 56-acre Batsford Arboretum and Garden Centre (10 minutes’ drive), flying displays from falcons, eagles and other birds of prey at the Cotswold Falconry Centre (10 minutes) or the splendid 18th-century gardens at Bourton House Garden (10 minutes). Sezincote House (10 minutes) is another of those close-by spots and a rare authentic Mughal palace with a house and tea room – get there on foot if you wish by following the local Moreton Eight walk near the site. With the World Heritage Site of Blenheim Palace (half an hour) and the National Trust’s Chastleton House (10 minutes) close by too, there are many more options to have a nose around additional historic buildings. When you’re ready for some animal life, Cotswold Farm Park’s rare breeds, outdoor play and bouncy pillows (20 minutes) are likely to be a hit with the kids, or perhaps a peaceful picnic by the river Windrush in Bourton-on-the-Water (20 minutes) will do, with Birdland the prize attraction here.
