The location is in the Peak…
Electric optional grass touring pitch
Liked The location is in the Peak District and close to Buxton.
Disliked There was only one working shower which was absolutely filthy when we arrived though the owner did clean it later. Only one of the toilets had a working light in it and the light bulb had also gone in the portacabin that had the washing up sink in it. It was like that the three days we were there. There was also no soap in any of the toilets. You had to put a pound coin in the shower and then had 4:30 mins to shower. The water ran hot and cold and there was no heating in the portacabin. When we arrived we were allocated a pitch where the electricity didn’t work so I had to call the owner and he did direct us to the next pitch that had a working hook-up. If the facilities had been better I don’t think I would have minded paying £5 per day for the awning and £10 per day electricity.

From the manager: Was not going to respond to your review
Been advised to be professionally when responding to reviews from fake royalty but i will .Bulb went out end of the world ? Bulbs do go out you do know that dont you Only one shower working how many did you need they were filthy but they were claened... no truth is they were clean we clean twice a day paying £1 was painful part for you ?You wanted heating in portcabin they are small and basic purpose built by professional British company washbasin cabin is tiny for wash the pots you want heating in there I suppose really you wanted air-conditioning like other camping sites we do get few odd ??????
we get plenty repeat campers fair criticism we listen to now to be fair and honest people like you will find problems in Buckingham Palace guaranteed

Electric optional grass tent pitch
Liked Nice and flat.
Disliked On arrival there wasn’t anyone there to meet me, nothing to say where to go. Had to call the man. Another couple at same time, they realised the electric box wasn’t working. Id only put my ground sheet down by now. The lady said she’s contacted the owner and he’d be here in half hour so I waited. In this time, I went to look at the facilities. OMD! The toilets were grubby all in the lid and hinges, the shower - I wouldn’t wash my dog in there if I had one! The tray was all brown, stained. The sealant around the edge of the tray was also brown. Having paid £120 for 3 nights you were then expected to pay for the dirty shower as well. I actually went to the site next door and paid them £20 to use their facilities. The owner arrived, said to use another pitch, asked had I seen the toilets? I told him they were disgusting. He asked if anyone had used them, I said no, just disgusting. Next day his son was there. I was talking to the other guests that he was. They told him what I’d said about the toilets. He tried to say he cleans them three times a day! Not the lids he doesn’t! Actual bowl was ok, but the rest was not good. Wish I’d gone back to take pictures now. Lady next to me had a shower, had to come back for another £1 as it ran out on her. The men I spoke to also told me they saw rats by where the peacocks live. Again - not good!
