Liked field to camp on, had showers and toilets and sink with cold water tap for cold water also had a plug in toilets to charge phone, kidle ect.

Disliked not many accessable foot paths walk down to main road not easy to cross not that dog friendly as cannot let off lead until canal. needed a fridge for you to store ice blocks. pub at bottom of road only open fri sat sun day no where else for food nearest shop far away if not driving. No wifi.

From the manager: Thank you for your review.
We are a dog friendly sight, we just ask that because we are a working farm that dogs are kept on a lead or tether at all times, this is because we have had livestock killed in the past by dogs owned by campers on the site.

The farm is full of footpaths and it's easy to get down into the village.

The pub you mentioned in the village isn't a pub, it's a restaurant called The Family Tree that closes at around 5pm daily, there is a footpath that runs through the farm upto a pub at the top of the village called The Bear inn.

We are also situated next to shinning cliff woods which has plenty of footpaths.

Awesome location, great facilities.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Wow, what a location! The views were amazing. The facilities: shower and toilet blocks were very clean and comfortable. Washing-up liquid and sponges were provided in the kitchen sink area.
On arrival, we were greeted by a charming gentleman, signing in and admin took only a minute or two. There was easy accessible public transport, both bus and train to take us into Matlock and Matlock Bath.
we shall be back.

Liked Lovely views and really peaceful! Clean loos and hot free shower. Liked that you can choose where you pitch up. Site is on a slope but that didn’t bother us. Sweet family, run farm with cows.

Local attractions

Plot out the way to the Peak District… will it be fish and chips by the river in Matlock Bath (10 minutes' drive) or taking the cable car to the Heights of Abraham’s underground caverns (10 minutes) that gets your attention first? Gulliver's Kingdom (10 minutes) is just outside the town too for those of you with kids tagging along. Places that bring a little of history to your holiday are easy to find around here. There are period buildings and vintage trams ready for boarding at Crich Tramway (10 minutes), tours and walks around the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Cromford Mills (10 minutes) and the Nine Ladies (25 minutes) stone circle to see. Belper (10 minutes) is part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site – so you'll be well-set to learn more about the Peak District's industrial heritage – and for other interesting little places, Wirksworth (10 minutes) has a lively marketplace, heritage centre and a museum with the bones of old villagers. For those of you with an artistic streak, Denby Pottery Village (15 minutes) runs pottery painting in its craft studio, or you could look inside the farm shop and factory shop to see what goodies are available to take home.
