Feel free as a bird at award-winning Crows Nest Caravan Park between Scarborough and Filey – this well-maintained place is roomy, green and has sea views overlooking gorgeous Gristhorpe Bay and Scarborough Castle. Crows Nest is five miles from Scarborough and two and a half miles from Filey, but if you’re taking a break from the seaside/ exploring the North Yorkshire coast there’s loads to do on site too: a lounge bar with entertainment in peak season to suit all ages and tastes, a family bar with pool tables, a games room, a play area for little fledglings and a heated indoor pool with poolside assistants during high season. The award-winning amenities block a short walk from the tent field has free hot showers, wash basins, hairdryers and socket/shaver points, and there are also family bathrooms and a disabled-access shower room. Elsewhere on site there’s a washing-up area, launderette, chemical disposal point and well-stocked supermarket. And, as you can’t come to the coast and not have fish and chips, there’s also a chippy takeaway open in high season (but they do have more fish and chips in Scarborough too). Bringing the family friend? Crows Nest Caravan Park is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed in the conservatory area of the lounge bar; there's also a dog park on site.

Em va agradar This is a well maintained site, large and generous pitches, we was just out of season so the pool and shop and entertainment were not available.

No em va agradar The shower block on the lower pitches are a bit run down and water pressure was not great.
It was ment to be a dog friendly site however dogs are only aloud in the concervatory section and out of season you were sat alone partitioned off from the rest of the pub.

Em va agradar Pitch was good location was good

No em va agradar All facilities were shut on site even the shop couldn’t get any food on site , when we went to reception she said it states on the website No it didn’t just said out of season some facilities would we shut .
They need to state the dates more clearly happy to take your money but nothing was opened lots of people on the site were moaning about this . They even charge you £3 quid to use the swimming pool and the lady on reception was miserable as sin .
Please check before you book this site out of season

We are pleased you liked your pitch and the location.

We do need to clarify the comments about there being 'lots of people on site moaning'. During your stay, the upper area alone, which can accommodate around 100 tents, 19 electric tent pitches and 26 touring caravans, had just 8 bookings. This was therefore a very quiet out of season stay.

It is also not correct to say that all facilities were closed. The swimming pool was open daily, and the shop was available every day on request, as clearly stated on the sign on the door. Some other facilities do operate reduced opening outside the main season, which is normal when guest numbers are much lower.

The swimming pool is clearly advertised as carrying an additional £3 per person charge. These are not hidden conditions, and we agree with your own advice that guests should read the information provided and check with us before booking if there is any doubt.

Given that the issues raised are mainly things that should not have come as a surprise, an overall score of 2 out of 10 feels incredibly unfair.

Em va agradar I really enjoyed staying here the view was incredible on a night and during the day, the facilities were always well cleaned and there was plenty of them. Staff were all friendly when interacted with them, this was my first time camping I really enjoyed it.

Em va agradar It was a great site, with everything you needed & in the perfect place. Right on the sea, although we went for camping & ended up in a caravan it was a great stay. The staff was really helpful & due to the wind making it extremely difficult for us to pitch our tent, they found us a caravan no problem dog friendly also.

Leave the car behind: buses running between Scarborough and Bridlington pick up from the end of the Crows Nest Caravan Park drive and discount day tickets are available to keep more money for seaside rock. The kids will probably clamour first for Scarborough: there are the North Bay and South Bay beaches to bounce around as well as the traditional seaside fairground and donkey rides. But Scarborough’s also a hotspot for culture vultures, with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum alongside regular festivals and events throughout the year. Fab Filey is even closer: this Edwardian town has a five-mile stretch of sand and is backed by the peninsula and cliffs of Filey Brigg – this is the place to birdwatch and wildlife spot, with rockpools along the beach and many species of birds and beasts to see all year round. The 110-mile Cleveland Way starts here for hiking your way around Yorkshire’s history and heritage: Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and Dracula tales, Mount Grace Priory and Rievaulx Abbey are all along the route. Away from the seaside and vampires, puff between Whitby and Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, veer between villages in the North York Moors National Park or get citified around York and Hull, all within easy driving distance of Crows Nest.
