  • Dog-friendly park five miles from Scarborough and 2.5 from Filey
  • Award-winning amenities block, family bathroom and launderette
  • Indoor heated pool, lounge bar, family bar, play area and supermarket
Feel free as a bird at award-winning Crows Nest Caravan Park between Scarborough and Filey – this well-maintained place is roomy, green and has sea views overlooking gorgeous Gristhorpe Bay and Scarborough Castle. Crows Nest is five miles from Scarborough and two and a half miles from Filey, but if you’re taking a break from the seaside/ exploring the North Yorkshire coast there’s loads to do on site too: a lounge bar with entertainment in peak season to suit all ages and tastes, a family bar with pool tables, a games room, a play area for little fledglings and a heated indoor pool with poolside assistants during high season. The award-winning amenities block a short walk from the tent field has free hot showers, wash basins, hairdryers and socket/shaver points, and there are also family bathrooms and a disabled-access shower room. Elsewhere on site there’s a washing-up area, launderette, chemical disposal point and well-stocked supermarket. And, as you can’t come to the coast and not have fish and chips, there’s also a chippy takeaway open in high season (but they do have more fish and chips in Scarborough too). Bringing the family friend? Crows Nest Caravan Park is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed in the conservatory area of the lounge bar; there's also a dog park on site.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked Good facilities, convenient shop

Disliked Unsuitable for camping in tents due to wind. We left after one night with a damaged tent, some people left in the middle of the night. The location is pretty but not for camping.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the windy weather affected your visit and that your stay was cut short. However, I would like to assure you that Crows Nest has been welcoming campers for nearly 70 years, with hundreds of thousands of guests enjoying memorable and enjoyable stays. While we are in an elevated coastal location, which can occasionally bring breezy conditions, this is by no means the norm. We hope you might consider visiting us again under calmer skies.

Upper area fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (super)

Liked Have been before in a tent. This time i. A tourer. The park, the view, the weather, the proximity of the toilets/shower block in relation to our pitch. Chippy decent prices and was nice, although the curry sauce was not to our preference.

Disliked Very loud cackling party behind us in tent past midnight 😴
The toilets and showers were not very clean during our 3 days there.
I showered my child in the 2 right hand side cubical as going into the female ones and to my horror water from the next cubicle was coming in 🤮 I dont know if they share a drain or what.
I quickly grabbed him up, rinsed him and left.

Liked Lovely clean site with fantastic views

Disliked Flys ridiculous amount they were everywhere toilets showers etc had to but fly killer straps from the inside shop to try combat them in awning and van . Also no Internet on tenting pitches.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're pleased you enjoyed the stunning location and fantastic views.

The presence of flies is unfortunately more common during periods of very warm weather which coincided with your stay, especially in our countryside setting.

Please note that we do not advertise internet on the camping field or around the park. We have a centralised hub around the main facilities with free wifi.

We appreciate your feedback.

Local attractions

Leave the car behind: buses running between Scarborough and Bridlington pick up from the end of the Crows Nest Caravan Park drive and discount day tickets are available to keep more money for seaside rock. The kids will probably clamour first for Scarborough: there are the North Bay and South Bay beaches to bounce around as well as the traditional seaside fairground and donkey rides. But Scarborough’s also a hotspot for culture vultures, with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum alongside regular festivals and events throughout the year. Fab Filey is even closer: this Edwardian town has a five-mile stretch of sand and is backed by the peninsula and cliffs of Filey Brigg – this is the place to birdwatch and wildlife spot, with rockpools along the beach and many species of birds and beasts to see all year round. The 110-mile Cleveland Way starts here for hiking your way around Yorkshire’s history and heritage: Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and Dracula tales, Mount Grace Priory and Rievaulx Abbey are all along the route. Away from the seaside and vampires, puff between Whitby and Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, veer between villages in the North York Moors National Park or get citified around York and Hull, all within easy driving distance of Crows Nest.
