  • Dog-friendly park five miles from Scarborough and 2.5 from Filey
  • Award-winning amenities block, family bathroom and launderette
  • Indoor heated pool, lounge bar, family bar, play area and supermarket
Feel free as a bird at award-winning Crows Nest Caravan Park between Scarborough and Filey – this well-maintained place is roomy, green and has sea views overlooking gorgeous Gristhorpe Bay and Scarborough Castle. Crows Nest is five miles from Scarborough and two and a half miles from Filey, but if you’re taking a break from the seaside/ exploring the North Yorkshire coast there’s loads to do on site too: a lounge bar with entertainment in peak season to suit all ages and tastes, a family bar with pool tables, a games room, a play area for little fledglings and a heated indoor pool with poolside assistants during high season. The award-winning amenities block a short walk from the tent field has free hot showers, wash basins, hairdryers and socket/shaver points, and there are also family bathrooms and a disabled-access shower room. Elsewhere on site there’s a washing-up area, launderette, chemical disposal point and well-stocked supermarket. And, as you can’t come to the coast and not have fish and chips, there’s also a chippy takeaway open in high season (but they do have more fish and chips in Scarborough too). Bringing the family friend? Crows Nest Caravan Park is dog-friendly and dogs are allowed in the conservatory area of the lounge bar; there's also a dog park on site.

Deluxe 2 bedroom static caravan (pet friendly)

Liked - Fish and chip shop
- cheap onsite supermarket
- Nice and clean
- Well stocked and friendly bar
- Good entertainment
- Well maintained grounds and amenities
- Helpful staff
- Well placed geographically- easy access to both Filey and Scarborough.
- local bus serves for both above directions so you can leave the car onsite if you so wish
- Access to picturesque cliff top coastal path
- enclosed field for doggy friends

Disliked The only ‘constructive criticism’ I would like to leave is that although my dogs loved the ‘dog park’ they were able to escape under the fence. Ideally I feel that the fence facing the road should be dog-proofed to prevent a potential accident

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Beautiful views and easy access into Scarborough, with good nearby beaches. On site chip shop was excellent. The site shop was OK, but other shops nearby meant you weren't short of choice if you needed other things.

Disliked The site was quite busy and because of this the toilets were in heavy use. They could have done with a bit more cleaning. Having been before, I'd say this is the exception rather than the rule.

Unpowered grass tent or motorhome site

Liked Site was convenient!

Disliked Non electric tent pitch area was overcrowded once pitched you struggled to get out !!!
Noisy ! !!
Kids just doing what they want at all hours !
Dog barking constantly thru the night and day !
Other campers have no consideration for others !
Car alarms and radios going off at all hours !
Toilet and shower blocks full of flies 🤢
Inconsiderate dog owners that let their dogs go off lead and mess wherever ,, the fenced off dog park was empty the entire time ???
Loose dogs trying to get into your tent !!!!!
Poor WiFi ??
Poor service and overpriced supermarket,,, they are buying a £1 bag of ice and splitting it into 9 bags and then charging 1:50 a bag for it !!!
Pub/restaurant,,,, if you like flies you’ll love it ,,,personally I don’t want to be sitting having a drink with my loved one swatting the dozens of flies away 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤮and having to cover my food and drink up !!
Other than that ,,, benefit Britain comes to mind !!!

Local attractions

Leave the car behind: buses running between Scarborough and Bridlington pick up from the end of the Crows Nest Caravan Park drive and discount day tickets are available to keep more money for seaside rock. The kids will probably clamour first for Scarborough: there are the North Bay and South Bay beaches to bounce around as well as the traditional seaside fairground and donkey rides. But Scarborough’s also a hotspot for culture vultures, with the Scarborough Open Air Theatre, Scarborough Art Gallery and Rotunda Museum alongside regular festivals and events throughout the year. Fab Filey is even closer: this Edwardian town has a five-mile stretch of sand and is backed by the peninsula and cliffs of Filey Brigg – this is the place to birdwatch and wildlife spot, with rockpools along the beach and many species of birds and beasts to see all year round. The 110-mile Cleveland Way starts here for hiking your way around Yorkshire’s history and heritage: Scarborough Castle, Whitby Abbey and Dracula tales, Mount Grace Priory and Rievaulx Abbey are all along the route. Away from the seaside and vampires, puff between Whitby and Pickering on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, veer between villages in the North York Moors National Park or get citified around York and Hull, all within easy driving distance of Crows Nest.
