Beaminster, Dorset, England
Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked Beautiful scenery
Proximity to Beaminster
Adults only site, no dogs.
Hot showers that stay on.
Owners were very helpful.
Disliked Electricity wasn't good enough to keep our fridge on so had to use our gas.
Toilet block wasn't cleaned daily.
No separate hose for filling up our motorhome tank so had to use the same hose as people clean their toilet cassettes with.
Entrance to site needs cleaning up as large mounds of rubble/soil lying around.
Our pitch had a large piece of metal sticking out that could have caused us a puncture.
Pitches weren't level.
2 x outside lights weren't working on the toilet block.

From the manager: Hi Linda, Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy Willow Farm camp site and had some issues. We were in contact with you several times during your stay trying to sort out the electric issue. Not sure why there was a problem as we’ve not had any issues at all since we’ve been open. However, we can only accommodate smaller campers but have had no problems up to now. I messaged you to offer a part-refund for non-electric for the period you stayed but had no reply. And Tom offered another electric pitch & gas cylinder for you which I imagine worked as we didn’t hear from you again & assumed it was working fine. The showers are cleaned regularly but when they are used a lot through the day there will be grass from the site which can’t be helped. But apologies if they were not found to be clean enough. The site is on a slight hill so is slightly uneven but we find most people park side on or use wedges. The hose as my husband explained to you at the time is for the cassettes and there is another hose and plenty of available clean water on the site. The entrance is still in progress and the rubble is being used to make the area flat and to park when it’s wet. As for the ‘rave’ I have no idea where this music was coming from as we were tucked up in bed.. but we do have several neighbours nearby. Sorry you didn’t talk to us about your concerns such as the metal etc as we chatted several times to you during your stay and would have happily dealt with your concerns while you were here. All the best. Sharon and Tom

Electric optional gravel and sand pitch
Liked Cleanliness of the facilities, lovely pool, bar and restaurant and good animation. Main resort of Lloret within walking distance.
Disliked The hills! People going too fast around the site on electric scooters, even children of 5 & 6 years old on the large adult scooters. One of the kids near us almost caused an accident by going in front of a car coming up the hill. Very dusty pitches.

Electric grass pitch (lake view, no pets)
Liked Activities, being in the forest, rural site, watching the planes! Plenty of room for kids to play. Some areas could do with a refurb such as the main reception area and area around it.
Disliked Main shower/toilet block too small for the amount of people on site.
Would like a few more provisions sold in the shop such as long life milk, bread and fruit.

Electric gravel touring pitch
Liked Biking trails, closeness to Lydford Gorge . Good sized pitches very friendly owners. Grass kept short, no flooding at all. Very quiet. Close to a bike repair shop that sold pizzas etc and drinks.
Disliked A bit near to the main road so traffic noise was always there but we knew this before we arrived. Showers could do with refurbishment but looks like all the site is a work in progress.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Only a few pitches on site. Very quiet and peaceful location with lots of trees and birds. Good views and lovely sunsets. Lovely friendly and helpful owners. Loved the cheeky Robin that came over to us for food periodically!
Disliked Nowhere to empty grey waste but this is only a minor comment.

From the manager: Hi Linda, I think the Robin has been trained by a previous visitor to come for a little food as it is back sitting on the arm of the chair! I hope that we can see you both again at Dapplewood soon.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (medium, semi-serviced)
Liked Loved the location, near to a pub/farm shop/quaint villages/main towns/ bus stop outside the campsite.
Plenty of walking trails and walks for dogs.
Ultra Clean toilets and fabulous showers.
Specific area for getting rid of grey waste.
Recycling bins
Fish & Chip van arrived in village on Wed evenings
Home made sour dough pizza van appeared on site Friday evening.
Lovely friendly and helpful staff on reception.
Plenty of sanitiser around the site.
Great entry system to site by way of automatic registration no recognition bollards.
Very safe site for children.
Lovely little stream running round one side of the camp.
Great sized gravel pitches for motorhomes/caravans.
Disliked Could not get any TV signal at all. Was a problem in that area of the site unless you have your own satellite dish. We wouldnt normally worry but wanted to watch Wimbledon Tennis which we had to stream on my phone.
Would be a great idea if the campsite hired out satellite dishes or additional TV aerials especially if you stay in the winter months.

Electric grass touring pitch
Liked Cleanliness of the site, friendly staff, lovely indoor pool, vicinity to local sites and close to town. Good sized pitches.
Disliked Just the noisy crows which we’re nesting in the trees above us and the droppings on the camper van but this is obviously a small price to pay for such a lovely site
