Great facilities all round. Showrs and toilets excellent, plentiful and clean. Attentive friendly staff. Quiet and secure. This is probably the best site I have stayed at and best value for money without a doubt.

    Disliked:

Motor home sunk into hard standing quite a bit which was a little alarming. That's it, everything else fabulous.

Quiet and peaceful this time of year. Good pitch. Shower block clean and tidy. Good free Wi-fi. Secure and well kept site. Location good for exploring by foot and mountain bike (hilly!). There is a flat bike route to Abbotsbury, which is a lovely village with pub and shops, with access down hill to shingle beach = 8 miles round trip. There is a footpath through fields to Abbotsbury too, 5.5 mile round trip. Weymouth and Dorchester a short drive away

    Disliked:

Showers could have been a little hotter, will be busier in main season.

The site was very clean and well layed out. Both staff and fellow campers were friendly. The children’s playground was good, not massive but enough for them to be entertained. The site was remote enough to be quiet but easy enough to find and to travel to different places, the local farm shop was lovely.

    Disliked:

Not a dislike just a recommendation that the showers in the camping area have a place in the shower to hold shampoo/gels etc rather than opening curtains. Showers could be a bit hotter. We camped in October so had pretty much sole use of the showers which was nice although not sure with a full campsite how they would cope with larger capacity of people using them.

Local attractions

The Kings Arms is our local pub and is located 200 yards from the site.

The Hardy Monument is an ideal way to get a view of Dorset and its unique and spectacular coastline.

Abbotsbury is a must with its world famous swannery, sub-tropical gardens and children's play centre. The village itself is very pretty with a wide range of craft shops and tea rooms to tempt you.

St Catherine's chapel is a pleasant stroll away and on the way back you have to walk past the shop so why not have an ice cream?

Weymouth beach with its beautiful golden sands that are safe for children play and swim. The attractions and eateries are endless. The sand sculptures are amazing and the fair rides and trampoline are always a hit with the kids.

Brewers Quay is also a lovely place to go as you feel like you are going back in time as you walk along the cobbled streets and the shops are very interesting.

Portland is a very rugged place you can visit the light house and scramble over the rocks looking for fossils enjoying the sea and surrounding coastline in it's rawest form.

For the best view of the Jurassic Coast - come down the hill from the top of Portland. You can nearly see the whole of the Chesil Beach, it is absolutely breathtaking.

Monkey World is also a great day out: there are the monkeys which are fascinating creatures, but not only that, you can get the chance to behave like one on the huge adventure playground!
