Disliked Not a criticism but be aware this park is at the top of a pretty steep hill. There is a bus but if you’re walking or cycling it’s a bit of a slog. On the plus side, the views are amazing

The hill is sometimes a double edged sword sometimes - it means we get the most fantastic views, but it does mean it's a bit of a trek up from the beach too! Luckily, the local bus is brilliant, and I always find that an ice cream at the bottom and the promise of a refreshing drink on the Jetty terrace at the top helps climbing the hill easier! Liked Perfect peaceful location close to st ives and the southwest coastal path. The friendliest of staff. Clean shower facilities with abundant hot water. Games room and fish and chip van was a nice bonus

Liked Excellent location close to Ambleside set in beautiful wooded grounds. Easy cycle access (lots of cycle paths or very quiet roads). Clean, hot showers. Drying room looked handy (although I didn’t need it). Friendly staff and onsite shop was well stocked with all the things you might need including cold beer and wine.

Liked This is a fairly rustic site but what first seemed like its drawback is actually its charm. It’s more or less a big field located by a river but it’s so peaceful and beautiful and located just a 10-15 minute walk from Settle where there are all the shops, bars and restaurants you could ask for. Particular highlight was Nettle restaurant. Depending on where you park up toilets and showers are a wee walk away but that’s the price you pay for this level of tranquility. Dunking my feet in the river that runs through the site after a roasting hot day of hiking about was bliss

Disliked Only 1 pot wash sink. Very minor issue though as otherwise facilities were excellent

Liked Great pub serving great food at very reasonable prices. Showers were lovely and hot and plenty strong enough. Very conveniently located for exploring the many wonderful sights and activities in and around Betws y Coed. Level pitches

Disliked Only very slight criticism is that all the toilets were also showers (4 in total) so it was a little bit busy in the morning. But nothing that a little patience didn’t solve.
