Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful place with a view of the mountain Pen Y Fan. Clean facilities, lots of places to pitch up and for the kids to play. Animals nearby etc. Lovely owner too, joined us around the campfire for a bit. This is our second time here and surely not our last.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (sloping)
Liked Beautiful views, beautiful place, very peaceful. Awesome bike/hiking trails. Clean toilets/showers. The rope swing on the top of the hill kept the kids entertained for HOURS!
Disliked Beware of the hill. The campsite is on a 35 degree incline. We decided there were 3 phases of this site, shock, acceptance and then laughing at the new people's faces as they arrived... But seriously, the hill is no joke, sleeping is difficult, cooking is difficult, sitting on a chair is difficult. Toilets and showers are a bit of a walk (no problem for the boys doing a number 1 as there's plenty of forest area). There are no set rules or staff so the residents get wild at night up to early hours of the morning normally so bring earplugs! Also rats around the bins as they were fully loaded day before collection so mind your step! There is also one toilet available which is in the same block as the showers so if someone's having a long shower you're having to wait a while. Would also be nice to have a water tap up on the hill.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Reception staff friendly and helped me book in easily. Big big site with so many caravans...we found a bongo friend and played football outside the camper. Unfortunately lost the football in the river and had to run after it! Managed to save it luckily! The playground was good, we didn't go to any of the restaurants or swimming or arcades as we were only staying for one night. Good fish and chip shop just down the road.
Disliked Toilets were ok but a bit stinky, had wee and poo on/in them. Maybe could do with a clean a bit more regularly? Didn't use the showers based on the condition on the toilets. Next to a main road so quite noisy throughout the night and not much to do within a walking distance.

Liked Very welcoming, friendly staff, easy to park, quiet with not many people around. Toilets were close as we're showers. Soft play was a bonus as we had coffee and our son played in there for a while and we had a look at the farm animals as it was raining. All good!! 🤘🏻‼️

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great views, nice open field (X2) and you can pitch anywhere you want. Nice to go for a walk around the lake at sunset. Nice to see the farm animals and get supplies from the farm shop. Staff very friendly. Easy to drive all over the peak district from here.
Disliked The shower cost £2.50 per shower and the pressure was pretty poor. The 2 portaloos were full full on the last night/day.

From the manager: Thank you for your review & positive comments, much appreciated. Thank you also for supporting our farm shop - We are going to get a plumber out to check the pressure as it isn't happening all the time, we have based our £2.50 on that other campsites charge £1 for 5 mins & we allow 15 mins for £2.50 - we hired in 6 x portaloos to ease any queues that might have occured - Thanks for the lovely photos & I hope you had a nice weekend

Electric hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch
Liked Great location, friendly staff, modern toilet/shower block, place to wash your stuff, good size pitch, electric hookup, locked gate for security. Grass for children to play on, big park!
Disliked No toilet paper in men's or women's toilet during our stay(bring your own?). No soap in men's or women's toilets to wash hands after going toilet. As other reviewers have said bins are always over flowing. My partner said she saw a rat rummaging through. Not ideal. Didn't have a bike to rent for a 5 year old. A balance bike was too small and the smallest bike with pedals was a 20 inch wheel basically fat bike which he found a touch too tall. He normally rides an 18 inch wheel mountain bike very confidently at home.

Liked Well marked out pitches. Little shop on site, clean toilets and showers. Friendly staff. You can hire a firepit and some wood for your stay. Fun to watch the go karting and great there is a playground on site.
Disliked Extremely windy and torrential rain during our stay but you can hardly control that!! We were told you cannot leave the campsite after 8pm as the gate would be locked.

From the manager: Thank you for a lovely review. It was a shame the weather was so bad this weekend. Where is our summer?! Gates do not get locked but may get shut at 9pm. No one is allowed to drive on and off the site past 9pm for safety reasons but you can use the carpark and walk back to your pitch if you do come back later or know you will be going out past 9pm. Hope that clarifies things :)
