  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

What customers say

This spacious site near Nottingham offers large, well-kept pitches & friendly staff. While clean & family-friendly, some found facilities dated & wish for more frequent cleaning. Noise & guest behavior were issues, but many would return.

Liked My kids absolutely loved camping here. Plenty to do. Nice big pitches. Met some lovely people. And the country park is beautiful. We were pitched right next to the park on site which was ideal with us having small children with us.

Disliked The toilets could do with some tlc. But at the same time there is so many people using them through out the day it would be hard to keep them clean. We had a large group of people camped in a big area at the side of us who were drinking and arguing late at night. But once I put my ear plugs in I couldn’t hear them and slept well. With us being near a children’s park I was surprised to smell weed most of the weekend. And the shop could do with more options not really much in there. But I would definitely return. And none of these things have put me off it’s just what comes along with camping on a busy camp site.

Liked The site itself is lovely, well laid out with good facilities. Good proximity to Nottingham.

We were wary of going due to recent bad reviews. Glad we ignored them and went. It is a lovely clean site.

Disliked Not a dislike but the loos could do with a freshen up. Not in the best co dition but they do what you need them to. Lots of facilities, loos work and showers are clean and warm.

Liked Good sized well kept pitches.

Disliked WCs a little messy. Showers flood ( take crocs), but ok.

No one available on check-in to supply information- had to rely on map.

Fire safety lax. BBQs, open fires and fireworks at night, despite heatwave & tinder dry grass.

We'll also review our check-in procedures to help ensure guests have the information they need on arrival.

Guest safety is extremely important to us, and we take your comments regarding barbecues, open fires, and fireworks seriously. We will remind guests of our site rules and continue to monitor compliance, particularly during periods of hot, dry weather.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future.

Liked The location was spot on as an athlete taking part in the outlaw weekend. Showers were fantastic.

Disliked We couldn't see the signs for waste water and being right down the far end of the site, made it a bit of a trek, even more so with the elsan. unable to connect to wifi, couldn't access the site at all.

From the manager: Dear Guest
Thank you for your lovely review. We're so pleased our location was ideal for your Outlaw weekend and that you enjoyed the shower facilities after the event.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the waste water and Elsan point signage, as well as the Wi-Fi. We're sorry these aspects weren't as straightforward as they should have been, and we'll review the signage to make it easier for guests to find the facilities. We'll also look into the Wi-Fi connectivity to see what may have caused the issue.

Thank you again for your valuable comments, and we hope to welcome you back for another event in the future.
Best Wishes

From the manager: Dear Guest

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the setting, the spacious pitch, and the facilities during your stay.

We're very sorry to learn about the damage to your vehicle and appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention.

We would like to clarify that the height barrier is manned for 12 hours each day, and information about the barrier being lowered during operating hours is included in our arrival email. The barrier is in place to help prevent unauthorised access to the site and ensure the safety and security of our guests.

During these hours, a member of our team is based in the shop monitoring the barrier, which is clearly visible from that location when it is in the lowered position. We are sorry that you felt unsupported on arrival, as this is not the impression we want our guests to have. We will share your comments with the team to reinforce the importance of proactively assisting guests approaching the entrance whenever possible.

Thank you again for your feedback. Guest comments are invaluable in helping us review our procedures and improve the experience we provide.
