  • Water- and land-based event centre in 270 acres of parkland
  • Easy access to Nottingham city centre, rail network and airport
  • Country walks, nature trails and lots to do for kids on site
What do you reckon is the main flavour of activities at this Nottinghamshire site? Yup, top of the menu at the Holme Pierrepont Country Park, near Nottingham, are all sorts of watersports: you'll be able to tackle a whitewater course for canoeing, kayaking, rafting and tubing; paddleboarding; and open-top canoeing. This is a land-based activity centre too, so if you don't fancy plunging into the foamy depths or would quite like to stay dry for a day, other options can be tackled at the outdoor adventure zone where there's an aerial adventure course, miniature golf, a kids' activity club and archery combat. A large play park, country walks and nature zones are also on site (please note some activities are subject to availability and must be booked at reception; early booking is advisable). Feeling a bit faint just from reading all this, and think you'd rather spectate? The centre has kindly included a country park café and a regatta lake where it hosts its own events like rowing and canoe regattas, dragonboat racing and triathlons. Lots are on offer too to keep the kids amused, including a woodland adventure playground and a nature trail, a short stroll away. Although all this energetic excellence is only 10 minutes' drive from Nottingham city centre, it's well into the countryside and away from anything townie, as it's deep in the 270 acres of parkland of Holme Pierrepont Country Park. The campsite part of the park covers 18 acres and has a facilities block with showers and toilets, and a site shop selling selected groceries and camping supplies.

This spacious campsite's near Nottingham and the National Water Sports Centre is well-liked. Staff and pitches are praised, but some note facility cleanliness and upkeep issues, plus occasional noise. Wi-Fi and shop access can be spotty. Security has improved after a recent issue.

We're sorry to hear that your pitch location affected your experience, particularly with the noise from the nearby road. Liked Vicinity to the national watersport centre. Plenty of space on pitch.

Disliked We were in the Rafters field. We stayed Saturday to Monday for an event. The shower/toilet block was not cleaned over the entire weekend so come Monday am it was grim.

Liked Location. The country park is lovely and plenty to see and do. Kids enjoyed it. It was our first ever camping experience so we didn't have huge hopes and was only doing one night to dip our toes in.

Disliked Busy, but that was because there was an event on the weekend we stayed. So no ones fault really.
Some of the toilets didn't flush well and the bathroom facilities maybe need a small revamp. They were ok, adequate for our needs, as we only stayed one night.
Few rowdy people till half ten but when the sun went down, it was quiet.
We were placed right next to a wasp nest which was very awkward. But to be honest, our car was parked between the tent and it, so in fairness they didn't really get in or bother us too much. And I hate wasps so I would have been the first to run a mile.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback following your stay with us.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your first ever camping experience and that the location, country park, and activities available helped make it a positive introduction to camping. It's lovely to hear that the children enjoyed themselves too.

We appreciate your understanding regarding the site being busier than usual due to an event taking place during your stay. We understand that event weekends can naturally be a little livelier, and we're pleased to hear that things settled down later in the evening.

Thank you also for your honest comments regarding the toilet facilities and the wasp nest. We're sorry for the inconvenience this caused, especially with young children with you. If possible, could you please email us with the pitch number you were staying on? This will allow us to investigate the location of the wasp nest and ensure it is checked and dealt with appropriately.

We will also review your comments regarding the toilet facilities and continue to look at ways we can improve the facilities and overall guest experience.

We're pleased that, despite these issues, you enjoyed your visit and had a good first camping experience. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us, and we wish you many more enjoyable camping adventures in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We're pleased to hear that you were able to make a last-minute booking and that we could accommodate you next to your friends, helping you enjoy your stay together.

We apologise for any confusion caused by the gate code being different from the one you received in your email. On this occasion, we had to change the code due to unauthorised individuals attempting to access the site. This was a necessary security measure to help protect our guests and ensure the site remains safe and secure.

We kindly remind all paying guests not to share the gate code with anyone else, as this helps us prevent unauthorised access and maintain a secure environment for everyone staying with us.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.
