What customers say
This campsite offers a great location near Nottingham and the National Water Sports Centre. Guests find spacious, flat pitches and helpful staff. However, frequent concerns are raised about the cleanliness and dated state of toilet and shower facilities, with some out of order. Noise and a lack of site supervision are also recurring issues.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Spacious pitches, nice setting, we were behind the trees which was nice. Staff friendly and accommodating. Nice park and felt safe for the kids to bike round the site.
Disliked Toilets aren’t the best, mainly because the sites big so it’s hard to keep on top of it but wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the spacious pitches, peaceful setting, and the location of your pitch behind the trees. It's also lovely to hear that you found our team friendly and accommodating, and that the site felt safe for your children to explore and enjoy.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the toilet facilities. We understand that, with the size of the site and the number of guests we welcome, keeping facilities consistently maintained can be challenging, but we are always working to improve our cleaning routines and standards.
Thank you again for your comments, and we're pleased to hear that this would not put you off returning. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back again soon.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Good amount of space, and drinking water available
Disliked Campsite away from where the activities are,
Misrepresenting the activities there are, the children were looking forward to riding in the cars yet when asked they said they were taken away a few years back, yet displays website and signs on site still show photos of the little cars. Not much for children to do, basic little park and nothing else in the campsite for the children.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Everything about the camp site and facilities. Park for the kids, kayaking was great, lovely views walking up to the water centre.
Disliked I can honestly say there wasn't anything we didn't like. We had all we needed, clean showers, washing pot facilities etc.

Could be a lot better. Expensive for what it is.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Proximity to water sports centre
Disliked Dirty and broken showers, sinks, toilets
Booked as a single adult, got assigned the pitch closest to the children's play area
Does the shop ever open? Campsite shop to be useful would be open first thing in the morning (for fresh milk and maybe fresh baking?).
Friends with high vehicles had issues with the barrier being closed early and opened late- watersports centre users often have vans with roof racks and the barrier policy is bad for them.
A lot of noise late into the evening, clearly no staff on patrol.
Email said WiFi didn't need a password; that network was not visible!

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a detailed review.
We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the proximity to the water sports centre and the convenience of our location.
We appreciate all of your feedback regarding the facilities, shop opening times, noise levels, Wi-Fi, and the barrier arrangements. We understand that these areas can have a big impact on the overall guest experience, and your comments have been noted.
Regarding the barrier, I'm not sure if you are aware of the issues we experienced a couple of months ago with an unauthorised encampment on site. This is the reason the barrier is currently being kept down. Our priority is to ensure that our paying guests have the best possible experience and feel safe while staying with us, which is why we have this measure in place.
The barrier is manned regularly, and if the campsite shop is closed, we ask guests to contact our ranger who can assist with opening it when required. We appreciate that this may cause some inconvenience, particularly for larger vehicles and water sports users, but we felt this was the best solution to prevent unauthorised access and ensure the security of the site.
We are sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the shower and toilet facilities. Clean and well-maintained facilities are very important to us, and we will be sharing your feedback with our maintenance and housekeeping teams.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the shop opening times, noise levels, and Wi-Fi information. We will review these areas to see where improvements can be made.
Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide a better experience.

A nice site which could be much better if looked after.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked The flatness if the site, the size of the pitch and location to water sports.
Disliked The amenity block was tired, poorly maintained - not all taps worked, toilet seats loose or off, only surface clean. The toilets were dirty when we arrived on Saturday lunchtime and no evidence of them being checked before cleaning on Sunday.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the flat layout of the site, the size of your pitch, and our convenient location close to the water sports facilities.
We're sorry to hear that the amenity block did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to highlight the maintenance issues you encountered, including the taps and toilet seats, as well as your comments regarding the cleanliness of the facilities. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and your feedback has been shared with both our maintenance and housekeeping teams so that these issues can be addressed.
We value all guest feedback as it helps us identify where improvements are needed, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a much better experience.

Disappointing
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Large site with plenty of spaces
Disliked No staff on site. Had to phone and wait 5-10min) for someone to come and open height barrier at 18:30 and 9:30! On a weekend in school summer holidays. Not a cheap site- pay some staff

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the size of the site and the availability of space.
We're sorry for the inconvenience you experienced with the height barrier during your stay. We understand that having to wait for assistance can be frustrating, especially during busy periods. The height barrier is kept down to help prevent unauthorised access to the site, which we believe helps provide a safer and more secure environment for our paying guests.
That said, we appreciate your comments regarding access and response times, and we'll review how we can make this process as smooth as possible for our guests while maintaining site security.
Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.
Kind Regards
