General site overview

  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland in Northamptonshire
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone; Northampton 15 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
Activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is just a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is also a seasonal swimming pool on site. And speaking of the essentials, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Liked Pitch a25 was so nice. Tucked away right at the edge of the field.
Camping area was really nice chilled vibes.
Pitch size was good and well laid out with clear boundaries.

Disliked Showers and toilets were frankly disgusting in field 1 camping.
No hot water 2 days in a row. No one cleaned up after themselves and they were not cleaned or unblocked which made for a very unpleasant experience.
Walking through the site it felt quite edgy and unsafe at points. More so in the caravan area which is very cramped and loud.
No draft beer on both evenings including the day of the football.
The pool changing rooms were dirty and pool area was not well maintained and also run down.
No WiFi on the camping sites was disappointing.
Place to wash up was tiny and regularly people queuing.
The site wasn’t full and I’d dread to think what it would be like in full summer holidays mode. I’d avoid

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed Pitch A25 and its tucked-away location on the edge of the field. It's also lovely to know you enjoyed the chilled atmosphere of the camping area and found the pitch size and layout to be well organised.

We're sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Our park teams work incredibly hard to ensure our family camping guests have clean toilet and shower facilities throughout their stay. Unfortunately, there are occasions when some guests do not leave the facilities in a good state, which can impact the experience for others. Our teams regularly monitor and clean these areas, and as soon as issues are identified, they work hard to get everything back up to standard.

The safety and wellbeing of our guests are always a priority. Our Security and Welcome Teams are on hand throughout the park, and we operate a zero-tolerance policy towards unacceptable behaviour. Any concerns raised are taken seriously and challenged appropriately.

During busier periods, facilities such as the pool changing rooms can become untidy quickly due to the high volume of guests using them. However, our teams are back on it as soon as things calm down to ensure cleanliness is maintained.

Regarding Wi-Fi, we do offer super-fast Wi-Fi within our venues; however, this is not available on the family camping areas themselves. We do make this information clear before arrival and around the park so guests know where Wi-Fi can be accessed.

Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue to improve and ensure our guests have the best possible experience. We do hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Liked Lots of activities

Disliked Only the Venue open for refreshments and only from 12. Would have been nice to go to the Lake Club overlooking the Aquapark. But only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Not early or mid week.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the wide range of activities available during your stay.

We are sorry to learn that you were disappointed with the opening times of our food and beverage venues, particularly the Lake Club. We completely understand how lovely it would have been to enjoy a drink, coffee, or ice cream while overlooking the Aquapark during the week.

Your comments are incredibly valuable to us, and we will ensure this feedback is shared with the relevant teams for consideration as we continue to improve our guest experience.

Thank you again for your feedback. At Meadow Bay, it's in our nature to listen to our guests and continually look for ways to make every stay even better.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed waking up to the beautiful forest and fields each morning. There really is something special about being surrounded by nature, and we're so pleased you were able to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

We're sorry to hear that the toilet facilities became untidy during the day due to flies and other guests leaving them in a mess. However, we're pleased to hear that you found them clean again once our team had attended and carried out their cleaning routines.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. At Meadow Bay, it's in our nature to provide a beautiful setting for our guests to enjoy, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Shelduck (area 3) FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Plenty of pitches of all types and a lot of on-site facilities, especially for kids. Nearby carvery pub as well as garage/shop/ fish bar.

Disliked Totally disorganised site management, campers park anywhere and spread out, so it can be busy and noisy. Pitch allocation is ignored. Be wary of vehicles disobeying all signage!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the variety of pitches available and the wide range of facilities on offer, particularly for children. It's also great to hear that you found the local amenities nearby convenient during your stay.

We're sorry to hear that aspects of your experience did not meet expectations. During busy periods, particularly on our larger camping and touring areas, the park can feel lively, and we appreciate that this may not suit everyone.

We do have teams in place to monitor the park and ensure guests are following park rules, including speed limits, vehicle restrictions, and pitch allocations. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams for review.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are continually looking at ways to improve the guest experience while maintaining the fun and family-friendly atmosphere that so many guests enjoy.

We hope to welcome you back again in the future.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely feedback.

Wow what a compliment! We're absolutely delighted to hear that after many years away, you were pleasantly surprised by how much Billing has changed for the better.

Our teams have worked incredibly hard to invest back into the park, improve the facilities, and create a fantastic destination for families to enjoy. Hearing that you've already booked another trip with your grandchildren tells us we've done something right!

We can't wait to welcome you all back for more adventures, laughter, and memory-making. Whether it's exploring the park, enjoying the activities, or simply spending quality time together, creating those special family moments is exactly what we're all about.

We're sorry to hear that you had a cold shower during your stay that's certainly not the refreshing experience we want our guests to have! We appreciate you letting us know and will pass this on to the team to investigate.

Disliked Noise till very late at night, difficulty checking in as our information wasn't ready

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted you enjoyed our grounds.

We're sorry to hear about the noise and the difficulties you experienced during check-in. We do always send an email on the day of arrival between 12 midday and 1pm with important information about your stay.

We do have guidelines and rules on park regarding noise pollution. However, we cannot be responsible for every guest's behaviour, and unfortunately, some guests can be noisy after the appropriate times. If our park teams become aware of this, they will always challenge the behaviour and take appropriate action.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We're pleased to hear that you found there was lots for children to do during your stay. To help guests secure their preferred activities, bookings can be made up to two weeks in advance. We communicate this through our social media platforms, pre-arrival email communications, and our website, and we would always encourage guests to book as early as possible, especially during busy periods.

We're sorry to hear about the concerns you experienced during your stay. We understand your comments regarding vehicles moving around the park, and guest safety is always a priority for us. We would encourage all guests to follow park speed limits and signage at all times.

Regarding food and drink prices, we have worked hard to ensure our pricing remains balanced and competitive. We fully appreciate that the cost of living continues to be challenging, and we strive to offer a range of options for our guests. We are also reviewing feedback regarding service times and staffing levels during busier periods.

We are disappointed to hear your comments regarding the entertainment programme. Guest feedback is incredibly important to us, and your comments regarding the timing and content of the performance will be shared with the relevant teams for review.

We also apologise for the condition of the toilet facilities during your stay. Our teams work hard to maintain high standards throughout the day, and your feedback will be passed on accordingly.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us. Feedback such as yours helps us continue to improve the holiday experience for all our guests, It's in our nature.
