General site overview

  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland in Northamptonshire
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone; Northampton 15 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
Activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is just a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is also a seasonal swimming pool on site. And speaking of the essentials, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

What customers say

This big, family-friendly spot's got heaps for the kids, like a pool and playgrounds. Sites are usually roomy, and the loos and showers (new ones too!) are regularly scrubbed, though some older ones could do with a spruce up. Staff are a gem, and things are improving, but some reckon booking activities is a drama, there's a bit of a din from neighbours, and toilets can get a bit grubby in peak season. A few folks also mentioned worries about speedy drivers and little tackers running wild.

Simon C. 1 review

Shelduck (area 1) powered grass caravan site

Liked Loads to do for my 2 boys who particularly loved the pump track.
Venue food was reasonably priced and good value.

Disliked The use of electric scooters and motorbikes on both the pump track and around the site was ridiculous, no lights on, speeding in the day and night - in my opinion there's a serious accident waiting to happen particularly as most didn't have helmets.
It might have been our pitch but it was noisy with cars driving past after midnight - surely a no traffic movement policy after 10.00 would be sensible?

Shelduck (area 3) powered gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked Everything was generally good. Plot was good location, club was good, like train and of course sun was out.

Disliked Booking (402GSBK6) The none attendance to site alocation to plots - I was allocated to num 6 on ShelDuck 3 only to find that someone had taken it, I was told to take any plot so we took 67 by toilet block but it never had an electrical hook up so plugged into plots 68/69 hook up ( due to daughter on 68 with 69 empty only find after returning from Club that my lead had moved and was running over road and plugged in by toilet block, so lead was being run over for 2 days.

Field 1 powered grass tent site (family)

Liked We had a great time. The cyclone activity that was on all afternoon was awesome and for FREE!! Evening entertainment was entertaining and had foam party. Facilities were good.

Disliked The bar/restaurant. Takes ages to get served and ordered food and waiting an hour to be told the food wasn’t coming and had shut food orders for a while. Everyone was starving. That’s the only part I say needs improvement.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We’re delighted to hear you had a great time and enjoyed the Cyclone activity, evening entertainment and foam party it sounds like you made the most of the fun we have on offer!

We completely agree that when our guests visit The Venue for food and drinks, they should receive the service and experience they expect. We’re really sorry to hear about the long wait and the disappointment of finding out your food order couldn’t be fulfilled after waiting so long. We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when everyone was hungry.

We have been making changes within The Venue to improve our service moving forward, and your feedback is really valuable in helping us continue to improve.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. Making sure our guests have a fantastic holiday from start to finish is it’s in our nature and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Shelduck (area 3) fully-serviced gravel and concrete caravan site

Liked There isn’t much i can write as a positive. We booked billing Aquadrome as an over night stop to break up a long journey and had we not been travelling for over 10 hours we would have turned around and left

Disliked We were held at the check in booth for 25 minutes whilst staff tried to find our booking. Eventually with pitch details in hand we were waved off in a general direction only to find our super pitch occupied. After a trip back to check in we were told to pitch anywhere. All the serviced pitches were occupied. So we ended up on a basic pitch as this was the only pitch free.
I was told that when people don’t like the pitch they have been allocated they move where ever they want and there’s not a lot they can do about it when they refuse to move

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We’re sorry to hear that your arrival experience wasn’t the smooth start we would want for any guest especially after a 10-hour journey when the only thing on your mind is probably finding your pitch and putting your feet up!

We appreciate your comments regarding the check-in process and pitch allocation. Our teams work hard to welcome guests and get everyone settled as quickly as possible, and we’ll share your feedback with the relevant teams to review how we can make arrivals even smoother.

We’re also sorry to hear about the issues with your allocated pitch. Our Touring team always do their best to manage availability and help guests where possible, particularly during busy periods.

Thank you again for sharing your experience. We hope that, should you visit us again, we have the opportunity to provide the easy and enjoyable stay you were hoping for because making guests feel welcome is it’s in our nature.

We’re sorry to hear we didn’t hit the mark on this occasion. It sounds like we had our work cut out for us even the holiday ice cream might have struggled to turn this one around!

We appreciate all feedback, as it helps us understand where we can improve. Creating great guest experiences is what it’s in our nature to do, and we hope we have the opportunity to provide a stay that puts a few more smiles on the list next time.

Liked There is not much to like about this site,

Disliked Kids flying around the site on bikes, I actually got hit by one. Rubbish everywhere, dogs everywhere

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We’re sorry to hear that your stay wasn’t quite the experience you were hoping for. Our parks are all about families, fresh air and making memories which means there can sometimes be plenty of energy around the park (and the occasional enthusiastic cyclist zooming past!).

We appreciate your comments about bikes, rubbish and dogs. It can be frustrating when guests don’t make use of the many litter bins available around the park, as keeping our shared spaces clean is something we all play a part in. We also love welcoming our furry friends to the park after all, they’re part of the family too and we ask all dog owners to help us keep the park enjoyable for everyone.

Creating a fun, welcoming environment for families, friends and four-legged companions is what it’s in our nature to do, and our teams will continue to work hard to maintain a great environment for all guests to enjoy.

Thank you again for sharing your feedback, and we hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the pool during your stay.

We’re sorry to hear about the concerns you raised regarding litter and the reported issue with the bird near the zip wire. We understand how important it is for our guests to enjoy a clean, safe and welcoming environment, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We’ll be sharing your comments with our park teams to review. Keeping the park looking its best is something we work hard on, and we know there is always more we can do especially during busy periods when lots of families are enjoying the facilities.

Shelduck (area 5) powered grass caravan site

Liked The pitches and the wooden devide, plenty of toilets and showers, that were well looked after. The new lake side bar was great.

Disliked If you moved away from the tourers area, and walked around the site, you could see how over grown and unkept it was.
