General site overview

  • Pet-friendly site on 235 acres of parkland in Northamptonshire
  • Half an hour's drive from Silverstone; Northampton 15 minutes
  • Fishing lakes, bars and restaurants
Activity and fishing centre Billing Aquadrome is just a couple of miles from Great Billing in Northamptonshire and set over 235 acres of green parkland and lakes. With so much to do around its grounds, it's likely that you'll want to stay put here for your entire trip… and if you do desire to speed off somewhere, Silverstone is only half an hour's drive away. The site has fishing lakes of varying sizes and depths where avid anglers can cast off for carp and common mirror carp, catfish, pike, roach, bream, tench and rudd. Bring along your own fishing kit and an up-to-date licence, and buy a fishing ticket from the team if you want to try your luck. Away from the water, the many other facilities include bars and restaurants (yes, plural, plus a beer garden). Just take note that the bar, beer garden and restaurant are all adults-only from 10pm. There is also a seasonal swimming pool on site. And speaking of the essentials, there are takeaways, a supermarket and shops right on site too, as well as picnic areas, Sky Sports and – if you need your barnet tamed after all that activity – a hairdresser's.

Shelduck (area 2) electric grass touring pitch

Liked It was a really nice break
The pitches were clean
The electricity worked
The water worked
We were guided to our site and found it quite easily and we set up and were left to our own devices
The activities were excellent
We parked up for the rest of the afternoon in a car park on site whilst we did some more activities

Disliked A lot of dog poo on the grass area of the grounds

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

We're delighted to hear you had a really nice break and that you found your pitch clean, with the electric and water facilities working well. It's also great to know you were guided to your pitch with ease, enjoyed the activities, and were able to make the most of your afternoon on the park.

We're sorry to hear about your concerns regarding what appeared to be dog fouling on the grassed areas. As our park is home to a large number of wild birds, particularly geese, what is often mistaken for dog fouling is usually goose droppings – sometimes jokingly referred to as "goose confetti"! While this is a natural part of being in a beautiful park with lakes and wildlife, our grounds team work hard to keep the park looking its best and regularly maintain the outdoor areas.

We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for another enjoyable stay soon.

Shelduck (area 5) electric grass touring pitch

Liked Stayed for 4 nights to visit the local area and to experince what it be like to stay on a site with so many things to do, luckily we somehow worked out prior, a pitch that was fairly quiet and away from the main hoards of people !

Disliked On arrival, expecting a welcome pack and to be shown to our pitch but instead was given our window sticker and wrist bands and we said it was our first time here, no map to guide us to our pitch just verbal instructions!!
Porto style cabin toilet block which was unisexed and toilets was in each of the showers !!! Meaning you had to queue to use the toilet or have a shower !! After the second day of our stay these facilities become totally disgusting, unable to cope with the amount of people using them, two toilets were blocked and over flowing into the shower, floors, toilets and showers were dirty,no one cleaning up after using them and I did not once see any staff clean or sort out the issues there, we even looked at other shower blocks further away and they too was in the exact same disgusting state. We decided enough was enough with this, and used the facilities in our motorhome!! We would of reported our issues, but I had already reported one issue with our pitch that we had numerous large holes in the grass area right near to our main door of our motorhome, the welcome hub said they would send maintenance round to fill up with soil but that never happened!! So we put a large piece of wood in one hole and hoped that my disabled dad wouldn't trip over the other ones and hurt himself !!
We braved and tried a session at the swimming pool, but once was enough, it felt old, tired and dirty, changing rooms was so hot you could fry a egg in there !! U had to walk around bare footed, we decided not to go back for our second pre booked swim !!!.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay with us.

I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed exploring the local area and were able to find a quieter pitch to suit your stay.

I am sorry to hear that some aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations.

With regard to your arrival, we send all of our holiday guests communications throughout the booking process. On the day of arrival, our touring guests receive an email containing the location of their pitch, a helpful arrival video and access to our Touchstay app, which includes a wealth of information about the park, including a park map, facilities and useful guidance for your stay.

I am also sorry to hear your comments regarding the shower and toilet facilities. Our park teams work tirelessly throughout the day to keep these areas clean and well maintained for all of our holiday guests. Unfortunately, with the high volume of guests using the facilities, it is sad to say that not everyone leaves them in the same clean and tidy condition in which they found them. Nevertheless, your comments have been shared with the park team for review.

I also apologise that the maintenance request regarding the holes on your pitch was not completed during your stay. This should have been followed up, and I appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

With regards to the swimming pool, we are already ahead of you regarding the lockers, and new lockers are on their way to us. The pool has also recently undergone further improvements as part of our ongoing investment programme. During periods of exceptionally hot weather, the changing rooms can become much warmer than usual, and unfortunately this is not something we are able to control. As with all swimming pools, guests are required to remove outdoor footwear before entering the poolside area. This is an important health and safety measure to help maintain cleanliness and hygiene around the pool.

We have invested millions back into the park and continue to make improvements across our facilities each year. We always listen to feedback, review our guests' comments and look for ways to improve because it's in our nature.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate your feedback and hope you will consider visiting us again in the future to experience the many improvements taking place across the park.

Shelduck (area 3) electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Really nice pitch in the end first one wasn’t great had a very nice stay grandchild came on Thursday for the day and had a great time. When leaving Friday morning had problem with van but was helped by Gareth he was a godsend can’t thank him enough very helpful and got us on our way Thankyou again.

Disliked Goose poo on pitch spent 1/2 hour clearing it before being able to set up as had grandkids visiting.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely feedback!

We are delighted to hear that you had a really nice stay and that your grandchild had such a wonderful day with us. It's great to know you were happy with your pitch in the end and were able to enjoy your time on park together.

A huge thank you for your kind words about Gareth. He really is a fantastic member of the team, and we're so pleased he was able to help get you back on the road. We'll be sure to pass your comments on to him – I'm sure they'll make his day!

We do apologise for the goose mess on your pitch. As a park with beautiful lakes and an abundance of wildlife, our feathered residents do occasionally make themselves a little too at home! While our teams work hard to keep the park looking its best, the geese do sometimes beat us to it. We are sorry that you had to spend time clearing the pitch before setting up.

Creating memorable holidays and being there when our guests need us really is in our nature, and we're so pleased Gareth was able to demonstrate exactly that.

Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back again soon!

Liked Nothing

Disliked Super pitch was horrendous. Next to a drain that was smelling with black sludge around it which smelt like sewage. The ground to our pitch was extremely uneven which made it impossible to put our awning up. Children on electric scooters up and down the pathways by the caravan. Definitely not a site we will be returning to. We paid premium rate for this super pitch and were so disappointed with what we were given, so much so that the following morning we left. We did tell the chap on the way out and he said he would pass on to management our reasons for leaving but obviously this didn't happen as we had message from you next day regarding our stay. Will not be returning to your site.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

I am genuinely sorry to read that your stay did not meet your expectations and that you chose to leave the following morning.

I was particularly disappointed to read your comments regarding the pitch. We certainly would not expect a Super Pitch to fall below the standards our guests expect, and I appreciate how frustrating this must have been for you.

We take reports regarding drainage and any unpleasant odours very seriously. Your comments have been shared with the park team so they can investigate the area you have referred to and take any appropriate action if required.

I am also sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the uneven ground and children using electric scooters around the park. Whilst we do ask all of our holiday guests to follow our park rules and to be considerate of others, we appreciate that we cannot always control the actions of every guest. Feedback such as yours helps us identify areas where we may need to increase our presence and reminders around the park.

I am sorry that you felt your comments were not followed up after speaking with a member of the team on departure. We value all guest feedback, and it is in our nature to listen, investigate and continually improve wherever we can.

Thank you again for bringing your experience to our attention. Although I am sorry to hear that you do not plan to return, your comments have been taken on board and shared with the relevant teams as part of our ongoing commitment to improving the experience for all of our holiday guests.

Liked Loved how large the pitch was. Lots of room. Lots ilof activities for the kids to do. Most were free, and the paid ones were not expensive.

Disliked The time we stayed there was lots of large groups of people. Toilets and dish washing sinks constantly need attention.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.

I am so pleased to hear that you loved the size of your pitch and that there was plenty for the children to do during your stay. We have worked hard to provide a fabulous entertainment and activities programme for all our guests to enjoy, so it is wonderful to know that your family had lots to keep them entertained and that you found the activities to be good value for money.

I am sorry to hear that the toilet and dishwashing facilities required more attention during your visit. During our busier periods, particularly when we have larger groups staying with us, these facilities can see a much higher level of use. However, keeping our facilities clean and well maintained is in our nature, and our teams work hard to stay on top of this and ensure they are cleaned and checked regularly throughout the day.

Thank you again for your feedback. We truly appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you and your family back again soon.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the general relaxed feel of the park.

I am sorry to hear that you noticed litter around some of our popular areas. Please be assured that keeping our park clean and tidy is in our nature, and we take great pride in maintaining our surroundings. During our busier periods, our teams will always put our guests first and may be assisting with guest needs, but as soon as things calm down, they are back out on the park ensuring everything is looking its best.

I am sorry to hear that your allocated pitch was occupied on arrival. For the most part, our pitches are allocated upon arrival, and on occasion adjustments may need to be made to accommodate guests and ensure everyone can be checked in as smoothly as possible. This is in our nature, as we always try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible to ensure all of our guests can enjoy their stay.

We appreciate your comments and will share your feedback with the relevant team as we are always looking for ways to improve our guests' experience.

Field 1 electric grass tent pitch (family)

Liked Pitch a25 was so nice. Tucked away right at the edge of the field.
Camping area was really nice chilled vibes.
Pitch size was good and well laid out with clear boundaries.

Disliked Showers and toilets were frankly disgusting in field 1 camping.
No hot water 2 days in a row. No one cleaned up after themselves and they were not cleaned or unblocked which made for a very unpleasant experience.
Walking through the site it felt quite edgy and unsafe at points. More so in the caravan area which is very cramped and loud.
No draft beer on both evenings including the day of the football.
The pool changing rooms were dirty and pool area was not well maintained and also run down.
No WiFi on the camping sites was disappointing.
Place to wash up was tiny and regularly people queuing.
The site wasn’t full and I’d dread to think what it would be like in full summer holidays mode. I’d avoid

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed Pitch A25 and its tucked-away location on the edge of the field. It's also lovely to know you enjoyed the chilled atmosphere of the camping area and found the pitch size and layout to be well organised.

We're sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Our park teams work incredibly hard to ensure our family camping guests have clean toilet and shower facilities throughout their stay. Unfortunately, there are occasions when some guests do not leave the facilities in a good state, which can impact the experience for others. Our teams regularly monitor and clean these areas, and as soon as issues are identified, they work hard to get everything back up to standard.

The safety and wellbeing of our guests are always a priority. Our Security and Welcome Teams are on hand throughout the park, and we operate a zero-tolerance policy towards unacceptable behaviour. Any concerns raised are taken seriously and challenged appropriately.

During busier periods, facilities such as the pool changing rooms can become untidy quickly due to the high volume of guests using them. However, our teams are back on it as soon as things calm down to ensure cleanliness is maintained.

Regarding Wi-Fi, we do offer super-fast Wi-Fi within our venues; however, this is not available on the family camping areas themselves. We do make this information clear before arrival and around the park so guests know where Wi-Fi can be accessed.

Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us continue to improve and ensure our guests have the best possible experience. We do hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Field 1 electric grass tent pitch (family)

Liked Lots of facilities for families.
Pleasant enough site with flat ground and sheltered areas (from trees)
Good value for money.

Disliked Had no mobile charged, so had no idea which pitch was mine, and no -one @ a reception to ask.
Ground too stoney for pegs!
Good enough value for money...

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback.

I am delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the park to be good value for money. It is lovely to know that the facilities and the natural surroundings of the park helped make your stay an enjoyable one.

Our pitches are generally allocated on arrival, so guests are not usually given a pitch number before reaching the park. Please be assured that our Touring Team are all over this for our holiday guests and are always on hand to help get everyone checked in and settled onto their pitch as smoothly as possible.

I am also sorry to hear that you found the ground too stony for your pegs. As we are a natural park setting, some areas can be firmer than others, but we do appreciate your feedback.

Please be assured that listening to our guests and looking for ways to improve is in our nature, and your comments will be shared with the relevant teams.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you back for another stay with us soon.
