Hideaway Escapes: Aerial view of the spacious site

General

  • Quiet site on a family smallholding with views, well off the main road
  • Saundersfoot and Tenby beaches within 25 minutes' drive
  • Donkeys, alpacas, geese, pygmy goats and ponies on site to meet

The splendid parts of Pembrokeshire are well documented: gorgeous beaches, fab coastal walking, top theme parks and ancient castles… Hole yourselves up for hols at Hideaway Escapes, a mile outside of the market town of Narberth, to be well set for easy access to all the above.

If you're an animal enthusiast, you'll be enthusiastic about this lush site too: Hideaway has horses, Shetland ponies, alpacas, geese, pygmy goats, donkeys and Mable the friendly pig to meet, as well as the tiny chipmunk who loves to show off… come armed with nuts to see how much.

Hideaway is in a cunningly convenient spot, centrally placed for visiting attractions all over the county – it's 15 minutes' drive to the nearest beach at Amroth; 20 to the beaches of Pendine and Saundersfoot; 25 to Tenby, and half an hour to the surfers’ faves of Broad Haven and Newgale. The area's top theme parks are both about 15 minutes’ drive away, or you could take a half-hour hike to Narberth Castle to delve into local history instead.

And after all that lot? There’s plenty of space in the accommodation field for kids to let off steam running about; grownups, meanwhile, can light up a barbie for an evening of bangers and beer while the stars come out overhead. Essential supplies are available in the honesty shop.

Creature comforts include a laundry facility, a washing-up area with hot water and a toilet block with hot showers. There's good news for dog owners here too: friendly hounds are welcome on site and have been provided with their own washing area for the hosing down of mucky pups (less welcome news for the dogs themselves, perhaps…)

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

At least one of the party members must be aged 18 or over.

If making a fire, the fuel, logs and coal have to be purchased on site.

Please note that access to site is via a bumpy track that is not suitable for low-profile cars.

The site was great had good clean facilities and just enough for everyone to use. LOVED the honestly shop such a great idea to do and especially being in a remote area it saved us having to drive out and find a shop. The animals are an added bonus the piglets were so cute and you could fed them! Danielle who looks after the animals and site was lovely always checked in on us to make sure everything was okay. Overall a lovely site and we will be returning.

Wow, what's not to like? Firstly, Danielle was lovely and so welcoming and helpful. Thank you. Next up, our little one absolutely loved the animals around the site and the play area with a baby swing and slide he could enjoy. We loved the firepits for hire and that the pitches were huge so we had plenty of space. The facilities were ideal (baby changing unit was helpful - and it even had a baby bath in it), the fridges/freezer were kept clean and tidy with space, lovely hot shower, fab honesty shop, handy having the coffee machine for just £1 per drink. Plus, they were raising money when we were there and made the most amazing brownies and flapjacks!

This is our most favourite site ever. I almost don't want to share this review! We'll be back.

There's nothing we didn't like. For us with a baby, a kettle and microwave would have been useful, but we managed fine without.

The facilities were great, very welcoming and the site itself was gorgeous. The added enjoyment of all the animals and sounds of farm life were priceless. Pitch areas were great and being able to park next to the tent was so helpful. Have already recommended to friends. And hope to book again soon!
This was our first time taking our toddler camping and he absolutely loved it, the pitches are situated in a way that you can see them wherever they are across the field. Plus the animals are friendly and can be fed with animal treats purchased from the little honesty shop.
We didn’t have the best weather and yet the views were still to die for! Beautiful site all in all 😃
More clear pricing for fire logs etc would be preferred but wasn’t too costly.

The pitches were huge, more room than we've had on any other site before which was great to set up our own little camp. It was our first time camping on a farm, it was lovely to see all the happy animals and we had no issues with insects or smells which was surprising. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, popping over to check how we were each day and see if we needed anything. Location is great, only a short drive from Tenby and other places but you wouldn't be able to tell because the area was so quiet. Couldn't have asked for more, well stocked honesty shop, facilities were great, fire pits and BBQs available to hire, no additional charge for a gazebo.

We don't have kids but we did say that the site was a perfect environment for a family camping holiday. There's a nice play area in the middle of the site and plenty of room for children to run around and play games.

Great experience and we would definitely go back.

We didn't use wi-fi (we try to disconnect whilst camping) so I have added a neutral score for that.
