Want to pitch up in splendid New Quay on the Ceredigion coast, former home of Dylan Thomas and 20 minutes’ drive from rubbernecking at the bottlenose dolphins of Cardigan Bay? Pitch up at Pencnwc Holiday Park. It’s less than two miles from New Quay’s beaches, five miles from the sands at Ceredigion and has been family-run for over 40 years so knows what’s what in making sure it has a stonking amount to do on site for pitchuppers of all sizes and inclinations.
After your warm Welsh welcome at reception, pitch up tent, tourer or motorhome and let the small sorts roam: they can take their pick from two on-site play areas, an amusingly big amusement arcade, splashing around in the heated indoor pool with adjacent paddling pool, or getting crafty making art, jewellery, sport and games at the free kids’ club. The entertainment runs into the evening in Merlyn’s Den, one of the two bars in the clubhouse, and is suitable for all sizes.
Seeking a slightly more sedate or grownup time? Hide yourself away in Pencnwc’s second pub Smugglers Bar for a coffee, newspaper or catching up with what’s happening in the world of sport on the bar’s two tellies; fish and chips, pies and other seaside snacks available from the Pencnwc takeaway can be brought into either bar. Or take munchies to the on-site fishing lake, where acres of space abound for quiet contemplation and no-one nicking your chips.
Small sorts probably won’t be too fussed about the on-site facilities, but grownups should be chuffed with the amenities on offer including loo and shower blocks with free hot water, a modern launderette and a washing-up area all kept in sparkingly good order among the flowers, shrubbery and well-maintained grounds. There’s no food shop on site, but you’ll find two at the nearby village of Cross Inn, a few minutes’ walk from the site entrance.

It's now possible to make group bookings on Pitchup.com for up to 30 adults and 30 children.
As long as the 'one unit per pitch' rule is not highlighted on the pitch type information (please check this before completing your booking), you will be able to pitch your tents together on one booking.
If you are not satisfied with the results generated, try breaking your booking down for more options. For example, if you're a group of 10, enter five people for your initial search and book two pitches. Use the 'Special requests' box on the booking page to ask to be sited together when booking multiple pitches or accommodation units: the campsite or park will try to grant your request. Click the 'Make another booking like this' button on the confirmation page to take you back to your chosen campsite/park listing page so you can make your next booking straight away. Please note the same dates and party size will be used, so you'll need to change this if the number of people or child ages are different.
Before booking, please check the listing page for any group restrictions. These normally appear in a section titled 'Please note'. Please also check the restrictions on unit dimensions to ensure your unit - especially for a large party - is suitable for the space you will be provided with.
