Rockbridge Park

Liked The setting was lovely, the kids loved playing in the river / stream.
Peaceful and site appearance clean and tidy.
The management were so friendly and the ice cream amazing.
Totally chilled out by the water!

Disliked No dislikes.
This feels like quite a new site and an addition of a central place to get a cold drink, a cake etc. would be great, and create a community feel.
Also as I am travelling with young kids a play area is always helpful like Pearl Lake.

Liked Beautiful scenary, landcapes and wonderful friendly team at Rockbridge Park. The park was well kept and just perfect next to the river.

Liked Beautiful setting, clean facilities, lovely stream for the kids to paddle in, the night skies and telescope dome to view the moon close up.

Liked Liked the toilet and shower block. very clean and well laid out. Very clean site. The tent section was right at the bottom of the site with a stream at the bottom (open access to this) so people with young kids might not like this. (at worst 30cm deep at our time of visiting) but son is 9 and got told he had to have grownup each time to play at water.
Dog field for those with pets
Son loved the observation dome....
Hopefully somebody liked the stones we decorated and left there.
We would go again, but a designated play area would have made it a 10/10 site
No road noise.
Love a flat pitch with easy ground!!

Disliked Felt like the small area we camped in was a afterthought..... here we have a small space (what can we do with it) There was plenty of space for us, but only 1 other tent in the area at the time. (think 8 pitches max)
Dog friendly site, caused some noise issues with one dog barking each morning about 7am. Just depends on your fellow campers at the time

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are lucky to have the tenting and camping down by the river though we do have fencing between the pitches and the river with access points. We have taken on board the comment about the children's play area. We are a bit confused with the comment about the tent field as it is a large fenced off aera that can fit 6 large tents or 8 smaller tents with views of the river. Glad you also go to enjoy the dome when staying with us.

We do hope you will think about revisiting us again here at Rockbridge.

Disliked Not much to comment here. The children did ask for a park but they soon got over it playing in the river.

Liked We loved the large pitch area, electric hook up and water immediately available to us. Our pitch (16) was the perfect spot - surrounded by fields and a small river which our son fished (with a net) and caught 29 fish and 2 shrimp!

Facilities were immaculately clean, staff very friendly. We could not fault anything and we are very much looking forward to returning

The fishing nets are a new addition this year for children to borrow and they have gone down a storm. Its great to see all the different things children are finding in the river.

We are a little confused regarding the electric power points. We have enough power points for every pitch that requires electric. If there is an issue regarding electric when you have booked an electric pitch just let us know and we can come and sort this our for you.
