  • Under 15 minutes' drive from Aberystwyth

What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

Morfa Bychan boasts spectacular sea views and a peaceful atmosphere, with immaculately clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Pitches are well-maintained and spacious, and the swimming pool is a hit with families. While some note the narrow access road and dated shower blocks (undergoing refurbishment), most visitors highly recommend the site for its stunning location and relaxing vibe, with many planning to return.

Kestrel clifftop fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Beautiful spot. Great facilities, helpful friendly staff. We were on a Kestrel pitch which is right on the cliff edge with full sea view. Just stunning

Disliked Nothing, but note once off main road the access roads are narrow with passing places

From the manager: Hi Joanne,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review 😊
We’re absolutely delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay with us, especially the Kestrel pitch and those stunning cliff‑top sea views — they really are something special!
It’s also great to know our facilities and team helped make your visit such a positive one — your kind comments mean a lot to us all.
Thank you as well for mentioning the access roads. As you noted, they can be a little narrow in places, but there are passing points along the way and it all adds to the charm of our more rural, coastal location.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we hope to welcome you back again very soon.

Red Kite fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked The swimming pool was lovely, and so warm !😊However, it closed at 5pm every afternoon which unfortunately was before we returned from trips out. So only got to use it once.

Disliked The Wi-Fi was at an additional cost, which at £5 per day was more expensive than Travelodge hotels. On our first night the water in the male showers was cold, apparently due to the boiler tripping out which had gone unnoticed. Staff promised to rectify the problem but I’d still call it ‘warm’ at best.
It was just over 2 miles on a single track lane to reach the site. Thankfully we never met any oncoming traffic but driving to and from the location was always a little concerning.
And the weather was pretty awful (wind and rain) but obviously that’s something that the site has no control over. (And highlighted in the small print!)

Liked The receptionist at Morfa Bychan was very welcoming and showed us where the main facilitys were and the location of our pitch. The site is in a very scenic location and tranquil location. The toilets and shower and laundry areas were very clean.

Disliked The road to the site is narrow, with minimal passing spaces, we were lucky and only had to reverse the once on the way in and out, but we did limit any additional journeys through the day so as to avoid any hassle

Kestrel clifftop fully-serviced hardstanding and grass motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked Amazing campsite, now on top of our most beautiful campsites visited around Wales and even around the UK (and we have seen a few :) ! We had a front row pitch with stunning sea views (it can get pretty windy during the night so check the forecast in advance, but you get the views so no complaints!) . Also to be fair, all pitches around the campsite have some sea views which is amazing so regardless of where you pitch up you will have great views . The site is spotless, grass cut to perfection, beautiful flowers and wild plants, lovely customer service, beautiful throughout! Amazing walks on the coastal path straight from campsite and direct access to the beach (wild, rocky but gorgeous!). Facilities are very clean and they are building new ones too as they could def do with more given how popular the site is. They have lots of holiday homes on site too so perfect even if you don't want to camp. And the mobile homes have breathtaking views too! Dog friendly site, with dog bins nicely situated around the site and even a dog exercise area (we have not had the chance to go and see if but we had plenty of walks around the site and on the coast). We had water and electricity on the pitch and the pitch was surprisingly leveled given location . There is also a pool available for guests to enjoy and a small games room. They have a small shop onsite (good for last minute items but not enough options to do a proper stock up so make sure you come prepared and not rely on the shop alone). The access road is quite narrow and could be difficult to navigate for not so confident drivers, however is mainly used for camping guests so if everyone is adhering to the check out and check in times, should be fine. All in all, we can't wait to return and we definitely recommend this amazing site!!!

From the manager: Hi Laura,
Thank you so much for such an incredibly detailed and generous review — and for sharing your lovely photos too! 😊
We’re absolutely delighted to hear that Morfa Bychan has made it to the top of your list of favourite campsites across Wales and the UK — that really means a lot, especially given how well-travelled you are.
It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the clifftop Kestrel pitch and those breathtaking sea views (even with a bit of the coastal breeze!). We’re also so pleased you appreciated the care that goes into keeping the park tidy, from the grounds and flowers to the cleanliness of the facilities — the team works hard on this, so your comments are hugely appreciated.
Thank you as well for highlighting the coastal walks, dog-friendly features, and overall layout of the park — it’s great to hear these all added to your experience. We’re continuing to invest in the site, including additional facilities, so it’s encouraging to know this is something our guests will benefit from.
We really appreciate your helpful notes for future visitors too — especially regarding the shop and access road — very kind of you to include those insights.
We’re thrilled you’re planning to return, and we’ll look forward to welcoming you back for more stunning views and sunsets soon!
Best wishes,
The Morfa Bychan Team 🌊

Peregrine fully-serviced gravel motorhome pitch (no awning)

Liked First time here- Lovely site- staff are very friendly.
Pool is great. New facilities are in the middle of being built, which we will see next time we come back.
Kids loved the park and made loads of new friends.
Pitch was great and views were amazing. Beautiful sunset too.
Great to have benches on the gravel pitches.

Disliked Nothing to do with the park but wish there was a path on the beach that you could walk to Aberystwyth. But you can walk it on the grass hills- Which I think said it was 1 hrs 40 mins walk. Or just 15 mins by car. You can get a taxi there around £14.

From the manager: Hi Stacie,
Thank you so much for your lovely review and for sharing your beautiful photos — those sunsets and views really are something special! 🌅
We’re delighted to hear you and your family enjoyed your first stay with us, especially the pool, pitches, and friendly atmosphere on site. It’s great to know the kids had such a good time and made new friends too — that’s exactly what we love to see 😊
Thank you as well for your helpful comment about the beach. For anyone visiting, it is accessible at low tide or as the tide is going out, although it can be quite rocky underfoot. Many of our guests enjoy the coastal path over the cliffs instead, which offers stunning views on the walk towards Aberystwyth.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we can’t wait to welcome you back to see the new facilities once they’re completed!
Best wishes,

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
