General

  • Peaceful pitches a mile from Aberystwyth town centre
  • A 10-minute drive from Borth beach; 20 minutes from Devil's Bridge
  • Play area and launderette on site; dogs welcome

Bryncarnedd Caravan Park, a mile outside of Aberystwyth town centre, is in a splendid spot for making the most of Ceredigion’s countryside and coastline – and for getting into town (on foot or by car) for shops, restaurants and attractions when you want them.

This place was once a busy dairy farm, but these days it’s been transformed into a peaceful caravan park with holiday lets in the surrounding old farm buildings. Dogs are welcome to join you on the pitches here – there are plenty of places to take them (or yourselves) for a walk on local pathways.

Easy access to the local main roads (A44 and A487) means that it’s straightforward to get out and about for the area’s many activities and attractions, be they beaches, birdwatching, bike riding or exploring the area around Devils Bridge.

Among the well-maintained facilities on site are a play area, a launderette (extra charge), a washing-up area, a chemical disposal point and a modern bathroom block with toilets and showers.

There was lots of space, clear water tap and electric hook-up

A few hiccups when first arrived! No pitch booked but we rocked up on the grass where there was an electric hook up! Owner did come round and made sure we were ok where we were! Facilities not the best but credit where credit is due they were on it the next day and already trying to rectify the problems. A site, defo work in progress but they are going in the right direction. So close to Aberywsth which is ideal.

    Disliked:

A bit disorganised but doing their best to accommodate their guests.

    Nothing really.

    Disliked:

I’m not sure why I booked this site. Other reviews scream mediocrity, and that is what it is. You know it’s not likely to be great when the reception is a tired garden shed with no one in it. It’s a cramped feeling site, on a busy road, with limited facilities, and nothing much to recommend it. It isn’t very well kept. There is nothing to do, and without driving away, nowhere to go. That said, it was quite full, so perhaps others think it’s OK.

    Leaving

    Disliked:

Hooks, shelf on the back of doors or about the clothing shelf for dry items and to put your glasses, keys etc would be useful.
Soap really needs to be available all the time at toilets especially- definitely not a Covid safe site!
Some lighting at nighttime around the site would be good, low level unobtrusive.
Launderette is spelt correctly at the actual machine but incorrectly on the entrance sign🤦‍♀️.
Wires to hook ups over the pathway being used by guests, rather than using the closest hook up.
Dogs is the limit 3 per van, 4 at one van and the barking was ridiculous.
Road noise although not a main road was heard from early until late, and we weren’t near the road like some pitches.
Everywhere was a bit unloved with weeds and debris, the rubbish area was overflowing and that was a normal weekend, not a bank holiday as used as the excuse on other reviews. There is no recycling just general waste I would have thought this was compulsory nowadays!
Toilets dirty most days, no soap, paper, no squeegee in the showers to wash down before or after.
    Mirror in bathroom or toilet
Water pipe for a long distance is above ground and so due to the heat the water was warm and tasted unpleasant.
Weeds were being trimmed as we left but with a petrol strimmer , no face shield used and smoking whilst strimming!
The play equipment being built over the last 2 day’s wasn’t completed as we left but is more suitable for a private garden rather than a caravan park.
The park is open at the road and we saw many cars pulling in off the main road to just use the toilet facilities, making us nervous about security of the site.
