Touring pitches

  • Peaceful pitches a mile from Aberystwyth town centre
  • A 10-minute drive from Borth beach; 20 minutes from Devil's Bridge
  • Easy access from main roads; dogs welcome
Make the most of Ceredigion’s countryside and set your compass to Bryncarnedd Caravan Park, a mile outside of Aberystwyth town centre. It is indeed a splendid spot here on what was once a busy dairy farm, and handily you’ll be well set for getting into town for shops, restaurants and attractions when you want them. These days, this place has been transformed into a peaceful caravan park with holiday lets in the surrounding old farm buildings. Dogs are welcome to join you on the pitches here – there are plenty of places to take them (or yourselves) for a walk on local pathways. Easy access to the local main roads (A44 and A487) means that it’s straightforward to get out and about for the area’s many activities and attractions, be they beaches, birdwatching, bike riding or exploring the area around Devils Bridge (waterfalls and cool bridges included). Back on site, though, there are well-maintained facilities, including a play area, washing-up area, chemical disposal point and modern bathroom block with toilets and showers to rinse off after a full-on day of adventuring. There's no reception on site, and there's a simple self-check-in system so that you can get straight to the important things: relaxing. There is, however, a manager on site 24 hours per day, plus a modern camera system.

What customers say

A peaceful, tidy, well-kept spot with generous, flat pitches and decent amenities, including hot showers. Handy for Aberystwyth, though the walk back's a bit of a climb. Mostly lauded for its cleanliness and chill vibe, though some found facilities basic, shared, and the lack of staff on arrival noticeable. A few noted pitch size and road noise issues. Despite small gripes, many would gladly come back.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Extremely poorly maintained caravan park

Disliked No contact or communication from hosts in person or via message to check all is ok with pitch/booking?
Pitch consisted of different large gravel types and weeds! Grass at side of pitch not maintained or mowed and full of mud heaps. Old rusty garden table and chairs lying Around. Toilet/shower block unisex! was unclean and one sink taps not working and other cold water only! Shower tray filthy. No hooks to hang towel/clothes.

Also a graveyard of old tatty moss green caravans on some pitches.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Spacious and clean pitch with conveniently placed water tap. Good views and lovely sunset. Convenient for getting into Aberystwyth and visiting friends staying on a site at Clarach Bay

Disliked There were no issues. The only comments I would give is there was no information available about the local area - walks etc.
and the toilet facilities were limited

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Amazing site, so quiet, no reception, no bothering. Just come and pitch up and enjoy your stay. One of the first weeks of the season starts.
Very close to Aberystwyth. Nice walks, and if you're tired, you can go back for a few quid by a local taxi

Disliked The reviews of other people who don't get the modern world.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Nice level pitch. The toilets and showers were clean.

Disliked The site was very unwelcoming. Didn't see anyone to guide/ welcome us. Lots of signs with DONT's on. £35. Not really worth that in my opinion. Wouldn't use again. Could be a lovely site. Possibly better in summer .

Local attractions

Once you’ve got your bearings, you’ll want to get clued up on exactly what’s close by. Aberystwyth (five minutes’ drive) has a castle, cliff railway and the nostalgic Vale of Rheidol Railway, while Borth beach (10 minutes) will sort out swimming, surfing, fishing, sailing and windsurfing fans. For walks surrounded by pleasant coastal scenery, the Ynyslas beach and nature reserve (15 minutes) is a sure bet for that sort of stuff, while the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (15 minutes) has plenty of walks or bike trails in a forest setting instead. There's also red kite feeding activities to mix things up a little there. Put your smarts to the test… you’ll find a few things to wrap your head around at the Centre for Alternative Technology (35 minutes). Meanwhile, Corris Craft Centre (35 minutes) will be a test of your artistic skills instead, while the Silver Mountain Experience (20 minutes) has escape rooms and tours around a Victorian mine. And what about King Arthur's Labyrinth (40 minutes), where re-enactments and boat tours bring the legends to life? Handily, with your guide, you shouldn't get too lost inside the Snowdonia mountains…
