Alles in allem ein klares Never again!

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Accessibility to Aberystwyth town. £6 in a cab or a 40 min walk. Dishwashing area good.

Disliked For £30 a night I'd like the grass to be mown. Id like the toilets & showers to be cleaned with more than a dirty mop & sponge. Actual SOAP would help it smell a lot better. I was lucky to be there in low season so 2 loos was ok but don't think that's gonna work in high season. It's time the owner disposed of the old rotting caravans & their carcasses & cleaned this site up! It has potential but needs work to get it there.

It was quiet at night.
The area is beautiful. Great for 🚶 ng and biking.
I liked being able to choose where I pitched my tent ⛺️

Disliked There seemed only to be two toilets which doesn’t seem quite enough.

What customers say

A well-located, generally clean and tidy site with good sized, level pitches. Facilities, particularly showers and toilets, are frequently praised for cleanliness, though some guests found them basic. The site is considered quiet and peaceful, with easy access to Aberystwyth. Issues raised include a lack of clear signage, limited staff presence, and occasional noise from other guests. Some guests found the road access and walk into town challenging.

Liked Pitches were average size and well set out. Access to water and electricity etc was good. Evenings were relatively quiet.

Disliked The site seemed to have quite a lot of touring type vans on it that appeared to have been there for a while.
Toilets and showers were almost like portable type ones and could maybe do with an upgrade. No reception.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Facilities were tired and basic. The site is unmanaged and not attended, Pitches too close together, but worse of all there was a large no of inconsiderate, noisy seasonal residents with lively children.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Location

Disliked No reception. Poor quality pre-fab wash rooms/toilets. Site over run with travellers who basically took over, feral children flying round on e-scooters. Their laundry hung along all the fence making it very awkward for people wishing to get water from the nearby tap. Loud, singing at night after a few drinks & lots of swearing !

From the manager: We are so sorry you had such a negative experience during your stay. Unfortunately, we had three groups of people who have been utterly disrespectful to the site, our facilities and guests this weekend.
This matter has been a priority to us and we have been working hard to remove them from site due to their behavior, damage caused and abuse to guests and staff.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Choice of pitch and these were level and hard for a van so ok. Dedicated to pitchup bookings. Convenient for town. Ok for a single night.

Disliked No reception ( in fact no one at all) no site map so had to ask another camper about protocol. Not many water points ( and no indication where they were). Only a few showers and toilets for a large site with permanent caravans on it. No shop or other facilities nearer than town. Grey waste is 20 feet from nearest van parking and higher so you’ll need to carry it in a container ( ok for caravans of course) Chemical waste isn’t flushing type with just a tap ( and no hose) so it’s a bit rank 😷 Site lacks a personality!!

For walks surrounded by pleasant coastal scenery, the Ynyslas beach and nature reserve (15 minutes) is a sure bet for that sort of stuff, while the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (15 minutes) has plenty of walks or bike trails in a forest setting instead. There's also red kite feeding activities to mix things up a little there. Put your smarts to the test… you’ll find a few things to wrap your head around at the Centre for Alternative Technology (35 minutes). Meanwhile, Corris Craft Centre (35 minutes) will be a test of your artistic skills instead, while the Silver Mountain Experience (20 minutes) has escape rooms and tours around a Victorian mine. And what about King Arthur's Labyrinth (40 minutes), where re-enactments and boat tours bring the legends to life?
