What customers say

This is a well-located campsite, conveniently close to Aberystwyth, offering a peaceful and clean environment. Visitors appreciated the helpful staff and the spacious, level pitches with good access to facilities, including hot showers. While some found the facilities basic and noted a steep walk back from town, many recommended the site for its value and would return. Manager replies indicate improvements have been made regarding facilities and signage.

Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Space was good

Disliked Disliked that someone set off 3 single fireworks at 4am in the morning and then whoever it was, was running around the camp site, it was pitch black so was really scary to hear that. Will never return for that reason. Made us feel very unsafe and uneasy.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Convenient for what we were attending in town and decent for a very short stay (clears up a couple of contradictory points made later as in yes to recommending and using again - but no way for anything more than a night or two)

Disliked Very small pitches too close together - for example, the campervan that turned up next to us resulted in their awning being within a foot or two of our car which was parked within our pitch. Sanitary facilities passable but being mainly unisex may not appeal to many - we went at a very quiet time. The star for wifi is an error as we were were aware there was none and were happy with that. No "in person" reception in case of any issues and got the feeling that, whilst being reasonable value, it was a case of it being a case of doing the absolute minimum to rake in the money.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Quiet, well spaced pitches

Disliked Toilets and showers for touring pitches were disgusting. Excrement on one cubicle which looked like it had been there for a while. Showers so dirty I couldn’t use them, and the dirt was not recent, it was clearly a lack of cleaning for quite some time. I couldn’t set my toiletries and towel anywhere it was so bad, couldn’t even hang my toiletries bag on the hook in the toilets while I went as there was “something” stuck to the door. 4 sinks, 3 had no water when turned to hot with one that dribbled out water but no hot water! Strangely I checked the block for the pods, they were clean enough. Do they think that touring campervan occupants are sub-human and don’t need clean facilities? That is a basic requirement regardless of what you pay per night. I’m furious that you think that is acceptable.

Local attractions

Once you’ve got your bearings, you’ll want to get clued up on exactly what’s close by. Aberystwyth (five minutes’ drive) has a castle, cliff railway and the nostalgic Vale of Rheidol Railway, while Borth beach (10 minutes) will sort out swimming, surfing, fishing, sailing and windsurfing fans. For walks surrounded by pleasant coastal scenery, the Ynyslas beach and nature reserve (15 minutes) is a sure bet for that sort of stuff, while the Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (15 minutes) has plenty of walks or bike trails in a forest setting instead. There's also red kite feeding activities to mix things up a little there. Put your smarts to the test… you’ll find a few things to wrap your head around at the Centre for Alternative Technology (35 minutes). Meanwhile, Corris Craft Centre (35 minutes) will be a test of your artistic skills instead, while the Silver Mountain Experience (20 minutes) has escape rooms and tours around a Victorian mine. And what about King Arthur's Labyrinth (40 minutes), where re-enactments and boat tours bring the legends to life? Handily, with your guide, you shouldn't get too lost inside the Snowdonia mountains…
