Okay for 1 or 2 days stopover but wouldn’t chance a holiday
Electric grass pitch (large)
Liked Pleasant reception staff. Easy to get to and the pitch was almost flat.
Disliked Out of hours contact
Our electric tripped out within an hour of setting up. The person on reception responded promptly. However, it tripped out again around 9:30 that evening. I rang a number on the leaflet given and left a message. We subsequently managed to resolve this ourselves as we carried an extra large cable but the point is no one returned my call. Not happy that I didn’t receive a courtesy call the next day. Didn’t try the showers due to previous poor reviews so relied on our own facilities but they looked quite clean

Liked Nice site . Freindly helpfully staff. Good facilities .
Disliked We went in the middle of October so it was fairly quiet but I think if it was busy the pitches had no space between and you would feel crammed in .

Liked Lovely site with well maintained facilities, and a friendly welcome. Lovely lakes / large ponds (when not in a drought!) with an excellent path/nature trail all around the site. We camped off season and had no problems with toilets/showers which were clean and well maintained. We did think that only two toilet blocks for 5 or 6 paddocks of camping would be inadequate in high season. Quite a walk too, from the far end of the furthest camping paddocks.
Disliked A lot of tree and grass maintenance took place while we were staying, resulting in two/three days of chainsaws and heavy machinery with beeping reverse warnings. No problem with maintenance, which helps to keep the site looking lovely. But we would have appreciated being warned on arrival that this was going to happen, and given the option to camp elsewhere on the site. Not quite the peaceful week we were hoping for.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review and for your kind comments about our site, staff, facilities and nature trail. We are sorry that the tree maintenance affected the peace and tranquillity you were hoping for during your visit. We understand your disappointment and appreciate your feedback regarding communication. We will take this on board to help us improve how we inform guests about maintenance going forward. Thank you again for your feedback. We hope to welcome you back again in the future.
