General

  • Peaceful camping field with year-round facilities
  • National Trust and English Heritage properties close by
  • Hike the 20 minutes up Ham Hill from the site

Yeooo, check out this well-connected Somerset pub site... The Masons Arms is in the good-looking hamstone village of Odcombe near Yeovil, surrounded by topping walking trails – the 20-minute hike up Ham Hill is thoroughly recommended just to start strolls off.

The Arms is close to many Somerset attractions including National Trust and English Heritage properties, but is set peacefully well away from the main road. And as it's a pub site, dinner and drinks in the Arms each evening are also thoroughly recommended – no fights needed about who's going to drive home...

Facilities at the Masons Arms include a modern unisex amenities block with two toilets, two showers, three sinks, a washing-up area, a hairdryer, an iron and an ironing board.

Please note

Single-sex bookings of 4 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

Unfortunately due to access issues the site no longer accepts caravans. Motorhomes, campervans and trailer tents are welcome and, of course, tents.

Lovely pub site good food beer and motorhome pitches. 25/11/2018

  • Liked:

Very nice place. The motorhome pitch had easy power and water access and were level enough to need no adjustment. The site backs onto fields. There is a unisex shower block with hot showers, indoor washing up, 2 loos. There is also a waste disposal and lots of recycling bins. Excellent for dogs.
The pub is very friendly, good beer, excellent food and an ideal place for friends to stay if they were to visit you when touring.
All in a lovely south Somerset village.
The entrance/exit is tight and needed a 3 point turn on a 7 m motorhome. However not hard.

Professional & friendly staff, great service, lovely hut, own garden 19/11/2018

I absolutely loved staying at the Shephard's hut. Nice, comfy, warm. You have your own private space with your own garden and bbq.
They offer a fantastic service. Good value for money. The English breakfast, which was included in the price was astonishing. Quite big portion and really delicious, and a great selection of breakfast.
I loved the fact that they paid so much attention to the details, when it came to anything. Beers, tea, coffee, snacks, spring water, flashlights were provided with the hut we stayed in. The breakfast came with toasts, freshly baked warm croissants, jams, freshly brewed coffee with a great selection of breakfast menu.
Unfortunately, we could only stay one night, and didn't get the chance to discover more of what they offer, but I'm absolutely satisfied, and would be more than happy to come back.
