  • Family park close to Poole, Studland and Sandbanks
  • Indoor and outdoor pools, amusement arcade, play areas and kids' clubs
  • Bowling, crazy golf, ice cream parlour, restaurant and clubhouse
Sandford Holiday Park is an apt name for this park, which has acres of Britain’s best beaches within easy reach… From its peaceful Holton Heath woodland setting, it's just a short journey to the wide sands of Studland and Sandbanks, as well as lively resorts such as Bournemouth and Poole – all of which are within a half-hour drive. Boredom's not an option here, where the activities include a summer outdoor and indoor pool complex, a dedicated musical play pool for toddlers, courts for tennis and many other sports, bikes and pedal go-karts for hire, and nature trails crisscrossing the site. Still standing after all that energetic stuff? Then go swing’n’rolling at the bowling, or take the kids around the jungle-themed crazy golf and reward the winner with an extra scoop at the site’s ice cream parlour. The park also has three different kids’ clubs, banded by age to make sure top fun is had by all (even the harder-to-please teens should be mildly interested by the film-making and DJ workshops… plus the free wifi on site). Young’uns should also enjoy the indoor soft play zone and two outdoor play areas, with a pirate ship and a climbing wall as well as the usual playground paraphernalia. Recharge your batteries at the fish and chip shop or the Arena restaurant, which serves Costa coffee as well as pizzas and lots of other family-friendly meals. Then top it all off with a trip to the Limelite Club for family entertainment, cabaret and competitions from the sparkly Troupers: you should sleep well after that lot…

What customers say

This is a large, busy park with a wide range of activities for children, including pools and entertainment. Pitches are generally well-sized and some offer privacy. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, many visitors report issues with the cleanliness and maintenance of the toilet and shower facilities, with some noting them as dated and poorly maintained. Several reviews mention issues with noise and overcrowded facilities, particularly during peak times.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked Good location to get around Poole/Bournemouth area. Site is spacious and good parks for little ones.

Disliked Second time visiting and hoped facilities would have been cleaned up for the summer but shower blocks are shabby and need updating. Pool changing rooms are very grubby, never seen them cleaned.

The children loved this park, although not the noisy evenings.

Holton 2 bedroom safari tent

Liked The grandchildren were absolutely blown away with the park and the safari glamping tent. It was a great adventure for them.

All the staff were AMAZING and they made every effort to make our holiday a memorable happy one.

Archie stood out for his outstanding support to us and our grandson Toby (9), who highly respected Archie. Archie went over and above to make our stay and activities seamless and memorable. He was unbelievably talented when guiding Toby on the Hire Wire and football. Archie was professional throughout and got the best out of our Toby. Thank you Archie

Ronnan too stood out for his support to us and guidance to both Toby and Piper (5) when at the pools. Thank you Ronnan

Breakfast was outstanding as was the Thunderbird Chicken... excellent food.

The children really enjoyed the football and arts and craft den.

The NISA shop was brilliant.

Disliked Mainly, it was noisy, especially in the evenings. Some guests did not give up with their loud noise that went on until the early hours. Children, were constantly woken up as the noise got louder as the night went on and, we could not sleep either.

Dogs constantly barking day and night.

Outside pool was EXTREMELY COLD. THIS SPOILT OUR HOLIDAY (unsure if we would return because of this)

Wifi was so weak we could not book activities. Also, could not access our Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime etc.

More information provided on booking activities would be great, as it was difficult to grasp what was what and when. Especially without wifi. We missed out on loads. Go carts were broken and only a limited supply for guests to use.

We were misinformed on our booking as it stated NO DOGS, when most of our neighbours had dogs. Two of our family guests booked on our holiday, had to stay at home with their dog. When we realised dogs were allowed, they couldn't come back as they went back to work and could not mess their employers up again.

Crazy golf area needed clearing daily as it was full of stones and, debris from the bamboo plants and trees. This issue is absolute common sense and guests shouldn't have to remind staff about this. Eg when guests are playing golf, the area needs to be clean.

Our fridge was broken eg freezer compartment door was broken.

Safari tents...., bunkbeds would be better in one of the rooms as there was no space to move.

Need more football areas for the children please. Especially for younger children under 10 as the older children dominated the (one and only) pitch to play on. They took over the pitch pushing the younger children out. eg, bigger children were stronger and intimidating. Younger children had to stand back.

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked Traveled with 2 teenagers, two 10 year olds and a 6 year old. Had a lovely stay. Nice sized pitches. Toilets and showers do need some attention but they were cleaning them just people using them not maintaining them.
Loved both the indoor and outdoor pool, did not need to book could just turn up.
Would return again if we were heading that way. Level pitch.

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked Friendly staff, always helpful and amazingly polite and kind.
Pitch clean tidy and a good size. Great electric hook up.
Old bathrooms lovely and nice showers.
Great entertainment for children.
Wonderful onsite pools.
Great facilities in the main gathering area.

Disliked New bathrooms, in centre of touring area (rounded building), toilets did not flush, showers were cold, water supply may have a few issues.
Terrible WiFi near main shops and pub area(it made banking very difficult)

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked pitch very suitable and plenty big enough to park and have seating

Disliked rude staff, booked activities for the children, Gel guns broke, hooverboards not enough and my grandsons broke, grandson did activity where he got into a big plastic ball and ran around knocking each other over, told staff member it was not inflated enough as he was nearly hitting the floor ,was told its up enough even tho its got a hole in it and other staff member went to get some sellotape.. told him its un staff and a health and safety risk, staff looked at me and picked up a football and started playing basketball.. these kids that are employed for cheap labour need looking at as have no idea over customer safety.

As for the cleaning of the toilet and shower blocks absolutely disgusting.
should be cleaned hourly as so many ppl using them and in a disgusting state.
I watched a young girl who got the cleaning stuff out the cupboard lined them up on the sinks then proceeded to fill her bucket then lent against the wall with her foot behind her and got her phone out and was on Facebook.. she stayed like this for 15mins then slopped dirty water around the floor and left. was left in a worst state

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked Toilets & showers were reasonable for a large site

Disliked Allocated pitch was taken. Reception gave us another pitch but was partly taken by another user. Reception was then shut and had to get security to allocate a pitch. 3 x trips to reception (long walk) and 90 minutes wasted. No real apology and when we asked for an hour late check out, we were told we don’t do them.

Paddock electric grass touring pitch

Liked The amount of activities.
Huge place with a lot of people but was still always able to get a table in the club no matter what time we went in.
Thunderbird chicken was great. We went there every night after clubhouse. This is by far better than any KFC you have ever tried

Disliked We had a woman on our next pitch with 6 teenage kids. She was in caravan and kids were in a tent. Screaming swearing and general messing around till early hours Every night. I phoned up to see if we could move pitch or even upgrade. I was told all the pitches were fully booked. I tried to upgrade to the star pitches (fully serviced). And again was told the same. Yet For the rest of our stay there was 3 star pitches empty and quite a few pitches available in the ehu paddocks where we were. I guess they just didn't want to do the paperwork.

Electric bikes and e scooters are everywhere whizzing passed you.

Local attractions

It’s a short hop in the car to begin discovering the area’s spectacular surrounds, from the wilds of the New Forest to the ancient cliffs, limestone arches and nature reserves of the Jurassic Coast (tick off another World Heritage Site on your 'must-see' list). Dorset is jammed with attractions to suit all interests. History buffs might fancy clambering around Northe Fort or scaling the ramparts at Corfe and Portland castles. The Adventure Wonderland family theme park has thrills for kids of all ages, plus a massive hedge maze to get lost in, and action men (and women) can go paintballing or drive a tank at the Bovington Tank Museum. There’s loads of fun for fauna fans, too: check out the chimps at Monkey World, swan about at Abbotsbury Swannery, visit Weymouth Sea Life Park, explore the largest saltwater lagoon in the country on the glass-bottomed Fleet Observer, or meet some farmyard friends at Farmer Palmer’s Farm Park. Drive a bit further and you can also make a day trip to Longleat Safari Park.
