St Leonards Farm Caravan and Camping Park: Tents and tourers are welcome on site

General

  • One of the closest sites to Bournemouth
  • Sociable atmosphere that respects guests' peace and quiet
  • Lots of water-based activities to do nearby

If your destination is Dorset-based, farm yourself out to the friendly folk at St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park, which is a splendid base for exploring Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest. This is a place that has sparkling clean loos, toasty hot water for showers and washing up, and well marked-out pitches – clearly these farm folk know what campers want. And canine campers are welcome too.

If you want to sizzle your own sausages, you can exchange gas cylinders on site and there are two major supermarkets within five minutes’ drive, or two pubs within a mile and a number of nearby restaurants if you’re feeling lazy/thirsty. St Leonards Farm is a sociable but quiet site and has a 'no noise after 11pm' policy – most welcome if you’re getting up at the crack of dawn for some seaside exploring.

Site was quiet as went late in season so had meadow area to self except for some dog walkers passing by.
Shops and pubs in easy walk range so didn't have to use car in the evening.
Showers nice and available for whenever we wanted to use them.
Enjoyed watching the cows in the field over the river and seeing the bats that flew over head at dusk.

    Disliked:

Road noise but was just a continuous drone so not a big issue as set back quite a distance from the road... airport next door was surprisingly quiet.
