St Leonards Farm Caravan and Camping Park: Touring vans

General

  • One of the closest sites to Bournemouth
  • Sociable atmosphere that respects guests' peace and quiet
  • Lots of water-based activities to do nearby

If your destination is Dorset-based, farm yourself out to the friendly folk at St Leonards Farm Caravan & Camping Park, which is a splendid base for exploring Bournemouth, Poole and the New Forest. This is a place that has sparkling clean loos, toasty hot water for showers and washing up, and well marked-out pitches – clearly these farm folk know what campers want. And canine campers are welcome too.

If you want to sizzle your own sausages, you can exchange gas cylinders on site and there are two major supermarkets within five minutes’ drive, or two pubs within a mile and a number of nearby restaurants if you’re feeling lazy/thirsty. St Leonards Farm is a sociable but quiet site and has a 'no noise after 11pm' policy – most welcome if you’re getting up at the crack of dawn for some seaside exploring.

nice pitch, not far to Bus stop, near a Pub and a supermarket, nice shower toilet facilities.

    Disliked:

the roads on site, need more limestone chippings laid down, so when it rains you don't walk mud into your Motorhome or caravan.

  • Liked:

Very convenient location for shops, eating out, camping shop, New Forest, local walks, all Bournemouth and Poole attractions - also easy to access from major road network.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Site surprisingly quiet considering the proximity of the A31. Site fees were very reasonable, particularly as this was a bank holiday.
Unfortunately, we had to leave early as our car developed a major electronic fault.

    Disliked:

We liked the individual cubicles for toilet, washbasin and shower which would be ideal for families. Unfortunately, the cleaning team were not able to keep up with the mess left behind by some campsite users, which was a shame. This was not the fault of the site staff.
The shower sprays were rather feeble but the water hot.

Location is an ideal base for exploring Dorset. Site is clean and well maintained. Staff friendly. Good space to exercise dogs and easy acces to public footpaths for longer dog walks. For those with younger children the site has a good play area and indoor play barn, also the site is next to a working farm so you can see a range and animals up close.

    Disliked:

Shower facilities a little dated and hard standing caravan pitches quite close together. Neither of these negatively impacted our stay.
