General

  • Family-friendly and family-run site with walks down to Lee Bay
  • Set on 27 peaceful acres a couple of miles from Woolacombe
  • Farm shop, tearoom and e-bike/bike hire: trails straight from the farm

Traditional Devon farm stays are the name of the game at family-owned and -run Lee Meadow Farm a couple of miles from the sands and surf of Woolacombe, set among 27 acres with woodland views on one site and Devon hills to the other, and with views of the Bristol Channel towards Wales.

There's a farm shop here too, selling free-range eggs from the farm's hens alongside stacks of products made fresh on site, and a site tearoom for cream teas before (and after) walks from the site down to Lee Bay through Fuschia Valley.

Easy walks and bike rides are simple to access straight from the farm, and the safe cycling of the former Ilfracombe branch line is just at the end of the farm lane. There's plenty of space on site too for kids to run about – or they could trot along to meet the Lee Valley piglets as well as lambs in the spring.

Facilities are well kept and include free hot showers, flushing toilets and washing-up sinks; a disabled shower and toilet facilities plus a baby changing area and a token-operated hairdryer. E-bike and cycle hire is available on site.

And finally, the two pubs within walking distance selling fine ales, cider and food are a fave with the locals – always a good sign for pubs…

We loved everything about this campsite. It was amazingly peaceful with lots of space for kids to run around. The tent pitches were level and a really good size. The toilet/shower blocks were immaculate and well stocked with paper and hand soap. The staff were super friendly and helpful with giving us directions to go for a walk to Ilfracombe. They also made sure we were well stocked with wood for the firepit. We will definitely go back and have already started recommending this place to friends and family. We loved it and it's only down the road.

Matt - extremely helpful he appears to run this well thought out site. Unfortunately we discovered we left our tent poles at home, after a horrendous journey. He offered spare poles which didn’t fit and then popped us up a bell tent, this for him was at the end of a long day, brilliant! Very clean showers, lovely well stocked farm shop, all alongside a working farm. Chatting to other campers we discovered that people have been coming here for years, such a good sign. Well located for surfing and supermarkets

The campsite was fantastic. This was the first time that we had camped as a family. The campsite had everything we need to make the stay welcoming. The shower, toilets, washing up areas and site in general was very clean. The farm shop had lovely fresh farm products and was responsible priced. The site was quite as we went the last day of the school holidays. We will be looking to book again for a short break in the future. Lovely place.

disappointing mark down as you travelled with us in August the busiest month of the year we feel a small wait for a shower in high season is not that bad as it was extremely busy during your short stay I assume it was a typo meaning WAS busy not wasn't ?
