  • Family-friendly north Devon holiday park with lots of activities
  • Under two miles from Woolacombe; Combe Martin 15 minutes
  • Surf machines, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, bowling and sauna
Join the thousands of sheep that flock to Woolacombe for the annual ovine hairdressing championships, with a trip to the green and pleasant gardens of the Golden Coast Leisure Park. Visitors have access to masses of activities on site, from the pumped up (cycling, tennis, water flumes, four indoor and outdoor swimming pools), to the more leisurely (bowling, fishing, pitch and putt, sauna and solarium). Although there’s no shortage of mod cons, the site retains an old-school charm, not least thanks to its Old Mill Inn, which has been keeping people fed and watered since the seventeenth century. In the evenings, guests can chill out and enjoy the valley views, grab a pint in the sports bar, or enjoy entertainment including game shows, family discos, tribute bands, comedians and illusionists. 'Messy mayhem' is promised at the various kids’ clubs for all age groups, and the little sprouts should have a fine time on the bungee trampoline and climbing wall; parents can confirm that their offspring actually do walk on water as they take to the inflatable human hamster balls in the pool, or show off their board skills on the Wavesurfer artificial surf machine. For a pit stop, try creating a family heirloom over a cuppa at the ceramic-painting café.

Golden Coast Holiday Park is praised for its excellent facilities, especially the pools and entertainment options, making it a fun-filled destination for families. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful, contributing to a positive atmosphere. While many guests appreciated the site's cleanliness and location, some highlighted issues with dusty gravel pitches, the booking system for activities and pools, and the need for some facility upgrades. Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Very lovely site lots to do, great location.

Disliked Touring toilets block were dirty and showers had very little power and would stop as soon as you let go of the button. Needs updating and staff checking regularly.

Liked The pool, arcade and bowling were great. Staff were lovely. The site had everything you needed and facilities were clean

Disliked We booked last minute so got the pitch near the night time entertainment that went on till midnight with young children, a road both sides so lots of cars and foot traffic.

Liked The drive into the site, site looked well kept.

Disliked When entering our motorhome area we struggled to find our pitch and after asking other motorhome users found that someone was already on there. My partner called the office and was told just to take a empty slot. It was a hot day and the baby just wanted to go out and play but we where on a gravel car park site which was blowing dust around and he just kept complaining of the gravel hurting his feet. We made some food and then had to hunt for a place to wash the dishes which was also quite far away and resulted in more stress trying to keep the baby occupied in a place he was happy to wander off in. We went back to the motorhome and tried to book the pool for him because he seen the pool when entering the site and spent all afternoon with his swimming goggles on . We couldn't get wifi, 4g 5g, or even phone signal so my partner walked up to the road to try and get the WiFi password which no one seemed to know and he ended up paying £7 just to be able to book something for the baby to do. Low and behold 3 night we had booked and all activities where fully booked so couldn't entertain him at all. He started to play up because he seen all the things that he couldn't do and is to young to understand bookings. We stayed the 1 of 3 nights because it was a long drive and spend a few hours the next morning contemplating if the 3 nights at this site was going to be any good for any of us. We packed up and hunted for a site that even just having a park on would be better for keeping him happy. I won't be visiting this site again.
Issues such as
No WiFi
No signal
Fully booked activities
Gravel site in which prevented us pegging out our awning
No help from staff even after making calls to find out WiFi password or if the activities where available.
It was no good for my 4 year old and just made the stay un bearable

Not enough activity spaces for the amount of people on site.

Liked Was in a lovely part of north Devon

Disliked Lots of complaints coming from the pub due to long wait and then the food being cold. Witnessed staff being so negative when outside trying to find people thst had ordered food. We then went to the club and ordered food. This also came cold and the chicken was so hard. Stayed on a hard standing pitch. Your that close to others and no room to turn your vehicle. We were supposed to stay for 4 days, we spent 1 night. Extremely disappointed. Will not be returning

Liked Amazing site , clean facilities , music playing all day lovely vibe, staff lovely and loads to do around. Outdoor pool was amazing and great bowling & soft play. We would come back

Disliked There’s a lot of work going on around the camping grounds looks like a building site next to the pitch literally

People in restaurant were not helpful at all and ignored us for ages before being told no food between 11-12 which is strange

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Had a great night here so booked an extra night for the end of our holiday.
Pitches were a good size, facilities were great, outdoor pool was lovely and warm. Entertainment staff were great (Adam was fab with teaching the surfing and helping with the high ropes). Great location, cooked breakfast was excellent...all brilliant.

Disliked My only gripe was with the ladies toilet block, the shower was very hot (couldn't change the temp) and had to keep hold of the button whilst showering. The hand dryers were pretty useless too.

Liked We’ve just returned from an amazing stay at Golden Coast Holiday Park in Woolacombe and can honestly say it won’t be our last visit!

The park itself is fantastic, with loads to do for all ages, but what really made our holiday special was the incredible staff. The team in the bar were so friendly and welcoming every evening, always creating a great atmosphere. The arcade staff were brilliant with the kids and made everything fun and easy.

The whole park had such a friendly vibe and it’s clear the staff work incredibly hard to make guests feel welcome. We made so many great memories and are already talking about coming back.

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun family holiday in Devon!

Disliked Camping pitch - site no longer set up for tents, pitches crammed into a small area. Toilet facilities very limited. Showers too hot to get into with no way of controlling the temperature.

Local attractions

Venture out and you’ll find loads to see and do in this part of North Devon. Clamber down the steep cobbledy streets to the fishing boats at the fourteenth-century quay in Clovelly (50 minutes' drive), or pay a visit to Barnstaple Pannier Market (25 minutes) to browse the local foodstuffs, arts and crafts, and antiques. Watermouth Castle (15 minutes) has dungeon labyrinths and a gnome land (anyone who thinks this sounds like the stuff of nightmares will be pacified by the dreamy views…). Nature lovers might enjoy an outing to the wilderness of Exmoor National Park to spot wild deer and ponies, choosing spots like the ruggedly gorgeous Valley of Rocks (35 minutes) for wild goats and fossil hunting. For other days out, the kids can come face-to-leg with scarily lifelike dinosaurs and go swimming with sea lions at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (15 minutes), or just get spaced out by the rides at The Milky Way Adventure Park (45 minutes).
