  • Family-friendly north Devon holiday park with lots of activities
  • Under two miles from Woolacombe; Combe Martin 15 minutes
  • Surf machines, bungee trampoline, climbing wall, bowling and sauna
Join the thousands of sheep that flock to Woolacombe for the annual ovine hairdressing championships, with a trip to the green and pleasant gardens of the Golden Coast Holiday Village. Visitors have access to masses of activities on site, from the pumped up (cycling, tennis, water flumes, four indoor and outdoor swimming pools), to the more leisurely (bowling, fishing, pitch and putt, sauna and solarium). Although there’s no shortage of mod cons, the site retains an old-school charm, not least thanks to its Old Mill Inn, which has been keeping people fed and watered since the seventeenth century. In the evenings, guests can chill out and enjoy the valley views, grab a pint in the sports bar, or enjoy entertainment including game shows, family discos, tribute bands, comedians and illusionists. 'Messy mayhem' is promised at the various kids’ clubs for all age groups, and the little sprouts should have a fine time on the bungee trampoline and climbing wall; parents can confirm that their offspring actually do walk on water as they take to the inflatable human hamster balls in the pool, or show off their board skills on the Wavesurfer artificial surf machine. For a pit stop, try creating a family heirloom over a cuppa at the ceramic-painting café.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked We really liked everything, staff where so welcoming supportive friendly did everything to help ☺️ everywhere was clean and modern, the bowling alley was so much more than expected great food drink and really decent bowling lanes, cosy corners to drink chill with friends too, arcades were fun little short staffed but they did the best they could, swimming pools great well organised and plenty of lifeguards on hands to keep everyone safe, both indoor and outdoor pools , outdoor was so lovely and warm super clean, crazy golf and extras like waves surfing and climbing wall, were reasonably priced and kids and dads thoroughly enjoyed it all, the restaurant by entertainment was great for breakfast, kids clubs discos all fantastic, lovely restaurants with kids play area outside was also lovely clean and good service again, the location is 2mins drive to beach or can catch bus so easy and parking for campers and vans as well as cars parking charges is£6 or £12 a day so helpful for us being able to take campervans, so good we booked an extra night, and didn’t want to leave thanks Golden coast leisure park

Disliked That you had only 1hr slot for outdoor pool I understand it keeps it fair, but to que in morning for tickets from 8am until reception opens at 9am felt Extreme, then to only be allowed a one hour slot, we only did this once I guess easier and quieter days you can select a couple of hrs maybe!

Also camping showers were not regulating well was too hot for kids and myself really, the button lasted 2seconds before water stopped running so then you have to keep one hand in button, quite hard to wash hair like that 🤣🫣

Would definitely return, great price and facilities

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked - having water and ehu on pitch
- activities
- swimming pool
- dog friendly
- super close to Woolacombe

Disliked - not much grass, pitches are gravel and a bit like a car park.
- booking system for outdoor swimming pool is awful.
- shower blocks could do with a refresh.

Local attractions

Venture out and you’ll find loads to see and do in this part of North Devon. Clamber down the steep cobbledy streets to the fishing boats at the fourteenth-century quay in Clovelly (50 minutes' drive), or pay a visit to Barnstaple Pannier Market (25 minutes) to browse the local foodstuffs, arts and crafts, and antiques. Watermouth Castle (15 minutes) has dungeon labyrinths and a gnome land (anyone who thinks this sounds like the stuff of nightmares will be pacified by the dreamy views…). Nature lovers might enjoy an outing to the wilderness of Exmoor National Park to spot wild deer and ponies, choosing spots like the ruggedly gorgeous Valley of the Rocks (35 minutes) for wild goats and fossil hunting. For other days out, the kids can come face-to-leg with scarily lifelike dinosaurs and go swimming with sea lions at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (15 minutes), or just get spaced out by the rides at The Milky Way Adventure Park (45 minutes).
