Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, take a gulp of fresh, clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park sits right alongside the sweeping sandy surfing beach of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast. Croyde is a popular destination for surfers, and it’d be rude not to have a go while you’re here. Guests can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather isn't playing nice, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with the children's club, adventure playground, indoor soft play area, tennis court and activities like 'tots and tunes' or character dining (this last one's during high season only). There's also a good choice of on-site food options, including a beach café and an ice-cream parlour, plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

Disliked Not the best place for families. There were lot of shouting late at night because but there is no one on the site to clam things down

Liked Really nice site, right next to the beach, facilities clean and tidy, and plenty of places for food if u don't want to cook. Also only a short walk to pubs, restaurants and shops of croyde village.

Liked Nice pitch, great location for beach. Shortcut route into the village. Friendly camp reception lady

Disliked Shower block had no mirrors above the sinks. Noise from the crows, seagulls etc was unbearable in the early hours I think due to the big rubbish area.
Breakfast I had to wait an hour, due to late food delivery and a 'chef calling in sick'.

Liked Great location and facilities both around the site and for the camping area. Clean and modern shower area/washing up area.

Disliked We hoped this would be family friendly however we were placed very close to a large mixed group of teenagers. These were very noisy until 1am when we had to get up to ask them to be quiet. Fortunately they left after one night. We were likely unlucky, but feel that reception staff could have been more sensitive in where we were located, as the campsite was mostly empty being off peak and midweek. It wasn’t obvious at the time of setting up that the group of tents belonged to a group of teenagers as they weren’t there at the time, if we’d known we would have asked to move before setting up.
