Stowford Village: Hardstanding pitch with electric hook-up

General

  • Countryside park on 500 acres, 15 minutes' drive from Woolacombe
  • Woodland walks, nature trails, pool, riding centre and mini zoo
  • Five camping fields and five spacious amenities blocks

Life’s little stresses getting you down? Want to stow yourself away for a countryside break where everything is close to your pitch?

Come along to Combe Martin’s Stowford Village in north Devon for a bit of de-stressing in a rural setting: the park is a mile from the main road down its own private drive and is a well-placed base from which to explore the best of Devon.

Set among 500 acres of Devon woodland and meadows, Stowford Village falls into the category of ‘very large’ sites – but fear not if your tastes tend towards the more solitary, as the park is divided into five separate camping and caravan fields and feels like several small sites rolled into one.

The overall size means there are heaps of facilities and activities for you to try your hand at, from cantering around on horseback with the help of the on-site riding centre, to driving the kids crazy with your swish moves at the crazy golf.

Looking for something a bit quieter? There are marked woodland walks into the wildlife-rich Bittadon valley, with nature trails starting and finishing on site, or take the kids to play at Petorama, Stowford Village’s undercover mini zoo. A heated indoor pool is available for a small extra charge.

For putting feet up or letting hair down, the site has two bars (with evening entertainment in peak season), a café, on-site takeaway and a carvery on Sundays. For supplies, Stowford Village has a licensed well-stocked shop and for your caravan and camping accessories.

And finally? Even the dog will de-stress here, with a friendly welcome and a spacious dog-walking area on site…

Love this campsite - the great playgrounds, the petting zoo, most of all the on site horse riding for kids. 6 year old asks to come all the time. We love Dave (the horse guy). Its a good campsite without the horses, but the horses just push it over the edge in to the excellent category. We are now regulars to the campsite. Love it.

It took us a little while to find our pitch on arrival and our electric hook up was hidden within the bush behind a neighbouring pitch. It wasn’t a big issue though

A wonderful place to stay. There were people cleaning all the time. Facilities were spotless. Lovely spacious camping pitches. Super extra activities on site - the petting farm was just amazing. The stables - a wonderful experience. Will definitely return. We tried to extend our stay we loved it that much but unfortunately the site was full.
